Invisible Learning by Cristobal Cobo & John Moravec - 0 views

  •
"The proposed invisible learning concept is the result of several years of research and work to integrate diverse perspectives on a new paradigm of learning and human capital development that is especially relevant in the context of the 21st century. This view takes into account the impact of technological advances and changes in formal, non-formal, and informal education, in addition to the 'fuzzy' metaspaces in between. Within this approach, we explore a panorama of options for future development of education that is relevant today. Invisible Learning does not propose a theory, but rather establishes a metatheory capable of integrating different ideas and perspectives. This has been described as a protoparadigm, which is still in the 'beta' stage of construction." -Cristóbal Cobo & John Moravec

LittleBits is a great set of small electronic components that kids can use to create circuits with moderate complexity. This tool is amazing if you use google drive to send and receive files from your students Doctopus gives teachers the ability to mass-copy (from a starter template), share, and manage grading and feedback for student projects in Google Drive. Its tentacles copy and "hand out" Drive files to a roster of students, giving teachers full control over starter template, sharing configuration, folder organization and file naming, as well as visibility over all work in progress -- including the ability to bulk revoke and revert student editing rights around submission deadlines.

Anytime anywhere learning - 3 views

I am really excited about this research done by Dr. Mitra. It goes to show that barriers to ICT access can be significantly minimized and all students can gain access. In this talk, Sugata Mitra will take us through the origins of schooling as we know it, to the dematerialisation of institutions as we know them. Thirteen years of experiments in children's education takes us through a series of startling results - children can self-organise their own learning, they can achieve educational objectives on their own, they can read by themselves.
  •
I was recently introduced to this research and found it fascinating. I am going to try to use some of this research in my own classroom by giving children access to the technology and giving them some freedom to explore and answer questions for themselves. I am excited to see how it works out!
  •
Professor Mitra came to Argentina as a speaker for the ESSARP Conference in 2013. Fortunately colleagues of mine had the fortune to assist and learn aboit this amazing person from which we can learn a lot! Trust for our students is the key! Not being afraid helps as well! Allowing kids to learn through tools they feel comfortable about is a great success!

Evernote is mainly a note-taking app. It is an amazing tool to write down your thoughts and ideas, organize them by using tags and sync them across various mobile devices. Screen-time - An important time for kids - 1 views

  •
I stopped to read the provided key points about screen time for kids together with its corresponding article because, it has been always a topic in my mind when friends share their disapproval about TV watching. I always back up my thoughts by considering that the problem is not the amount of screen they have but, the purpse for its use. Unfortunately, I believe many parents use TV or simile, as baby sitters, this I consider negative. While reading these articlaes, my ideas became clearer and on paper! Technology, many times neglected by old-fashioned teaching teachers, is often considered in the same way and, I truly believe that it must be also considered something positive, enhancing and motivating if used wisely.
  •
Besides all the online applications, programs, tools and games .. screen time is equally important for kids. The article also rejects the myths that parents and teachers have in minds regarding screen time. This perspective can be changed in to positivity by by proper monitoring of kids during screen time.
