Kindergarteners Who Share iPads May Perform Better: Study | TIME - 5 views

Interesting. In some schools here they are trying to implement the use of ipads, I think it is a very useful article to approach the issue.
  •
My school is contemplating providing our Kindergarten with a classroom set of iPads, and I will certainly forward this article to our teachers as they begin to introduce iPad use into their curriculum.

Nearpod - 1 views

  •
Meet Nearpod, an all-in-one solution for the use of mobile devices in education. Easily create interactive multimedia presentations to engage your audience. It works great with iPads and provides continuous feedback and reports
  •
This is an online service that allows you to create interactive lessons with students. You can use it in "student-paced" mode or in "Live session" to have all your students engaging at the same time. I was able to get a School License and it has been great! The free version works great too. The only limitations are the storage space and the limited file size for each presentation. There is a Google Slide integration if you would like a more familiar experience. I like to work on Nearpod.com and import slides created in whatever software or App I'm feeling like using that day (Canva.com , Keynote , etc.). I encourage you to try it out, it is really fun and at least my students really enjoy lessons designed on Nearpod!

Video production is a creative task and the most important segment of a video is its intro. An intro video is a small segment of a video which is used to tell the viewer what the ongoing video is all about. For a newbie, it is comparatively easy to learn and shoot a live picturesque video.

I think this is worth reading...sometimes we are blinded by the spark of ICT and forget about its rationale. This might help us make informed decisions about what to choose, how and when to use it and what for,

Socrative lets teachers engage and assess their students with educational activities on tablets, laptops and smartphones. Through the use of real time questioning, instant result aggregation and visualization, teachers can gauge the whole class' current level of understanding. Socrative saves teachers time so the class can further collaborate, discuss, extend and grow as a community of learners.
  •
Socrative is a fun way to engage students with either polls or quizzes. I use it for vocabulary instruction primarily but if they have a device it makes it easier for them to all participate.

Book Cover Creator - ReadWriteThink - 4 views

  •
A simple online tool for creating book covers. My grade Prep and 1 (Australia) students use this with few difficulties. The Book Cover Creator is designed to allow users to type and illustrate front book covers, front and back covers, and full dust jackets. Students can use the tool to create new covers for books that they read as well as to create covers for books they write individually or as a class.
