  •
The article is about how chinese fans of iPhone 5 are looking everywhere to find an iPhone 5 , which has a big rate of sailing these days. People try to use different sources where they can buy an iPhone.
  •
I really like this article because I think anything to do with demand for iPhone is interesting. Chances are, most people don't even know the new features of the iPhone 5 compared to the iPhone 4S but the popularity of Apple in of itself is enough to create hype

Apple's Monopoly - 1 views

  •
Apple has built a reputation as a monopoly. It is considered a monopoly because it controls so many aspects of its products. For example, the Google chrome on the iPhone has been created to be a bit slower than the safari on the iPhone. The Google chrome is not faulty it is just that apple isn't giving Google chrome an access to the java script. Apple over all monitors the aps placed in its iPhone. That is a monopolist move because monopolies want to prevent other firms from entering the market. Although apple isn't necessarily a monopoly it is considered a monopoly based on its actions as a firm.

iPhone 5 Demand Rising Through The Roof. - 0 views

  •
The demand for the iPhone 5 is ridiculously high. With people camping outside the Apple store to get it before the stocks get over. The Apple store had changed the shipping estimate to two to three weeks. People who managed to submit their orders early were told they would receive their phones on Sept. 21, the day the iPhone 5 is officially available. That change in delivery times is a sign that Apple's online store burned through its initial inventory quickly, forcing customers who ordered later to wait.

low budget iPhone - 0 views

  •
This article briefly goes over the possibility of Apple wanting to sell a lower priced iPhone (considerably lowered price) at the same time as it comes out with a new model. This is iterating as the mass consumer is no longer able to keep up with the $600 every 6months tat Apple cost them. Thus it has been rumored that they will do this in order to maintain the overall supply and demand of the cell phone.

This article talked about the oligopolistic competition in smartphone market. Several firms such as Apple, Android, Microsoft and Nokia controls more than 80% of market share. It is a very typical oligopoly market structure. And we can see firms are colluding and competing. Microsoft and Nokia formed alliance to compete against Apple. Microsoft also kept releasing new product, such as the Windows Phone 7 last fall. Smartphone market is very centralized and competitive.
