This philosophy is a literal interpretation of the Quran (Muslim holy text), and he chose to do this because it goes against the problematic radical interpretations that lead to stereotypes and ethnic conflicts. The mosque has not yet opened, but the founder has already received numerous death threats because of the institution's non-standard philosophy. This relates to our study because it is an example of someone who is today trying to end stereotypes in South Africa, just as the ANC tried to end apartheid stereotypes.
