    Recently, the number of Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo have been increasing exponentially. It has over doubled since it first began. It has been reported that over half of the infected have died as a result to the disease. This year, more people have died from Ebola than ever before. The economy in these countries could decrease by as much as 3.5% due to disruptions in the industries such as mining.

    This article tells how cases of the Yellow Fever have occurred in The Democratic Republic of the Congo. There were six cases confirmed in a laboratory alone on March 12, 2014. Preliminary outbreak investigations were conducted and at least 116 suspected cases arose. A reactive mass vaccination campaign hopes to vaccinate everyone to minimize the virus.

    A rebel group currently in control of a key city in The Democratic Republic of the Congo. They plan on liberating the entire country with their new power. The group makes plans on capturing important cities including Kinshasa. If success is reached, they would hold elections for new leaders to make decisions for the new government.

    Belgian authorities took Zimbabwean diamonds that were at an auction waiting to be purchased. A court order gave compensation to a South African mining company that had lost that concession. On September 12, around 500,000 ounces of diamond worth $45 million belonging to Zimbabwean shareholders was seized. The World Diamond Center wants to sell 12 million carats of diamonds from Zimbabwe this year. Zimbabwe has the second largest metal deposits behind South Africa.

    Recently, under police custody, people have mysteriously died and assault charges have been of concern. As a result, the police system has been trying to improve, such as an increased number of circumstances in which the officers recite to the accused, their legal rights. However, the holding cells are not kept properly, resulting in filthy and poor quality cells for inmates. Some lawyers have been found to participate in corrupt activities. If found guilty of these crimes, they would be punished through de-registration.

    This December, Zimbabwe will elect two vice-presidents through a secret ballot. The fear of a blown ballot or rigging is very high. Joyce Mujuru, the current vice president, is running, as well as a late entry of Grace Mugabe,the wife of current president, Robert Mugabe. The entry of Grace Mugabe has sparked fighting amongst members of the Zimbabwe government, Zanu-PF.

    The man behind the famous mall shooting that occurred last year has been assassinated by United States drones. Ahmed Godane and ten of his militants were killed during the airstrike. President Obama states how it demonstrates the country's push against terrorism. The removal of Godane is a major loss to the Al Qaeda affiliate in Africa, symbolically and for operations.

    French intelligence agencies assisted the United States in striking al-Shabab. The United States ended up killing the commander, Ahmed Godane. France claims that Godane had captured two intelligence agents, one killed and the other unknown. Al- Shabab vows revenge against the killers behind the assassination of their leader.

Suicide attack 'kills 12' in Somalia - 0 views

    A suicide car bomber killed twelve people in an attempt to eliminate members of the African Union. The bomber packed the car with explosives and rammed into the African Union convoy travelling southwest of Mogadishu. The attack is believed to be the responsibility of al-Shabab in an attempt to avenge the death of its leader, Godane. Civilians in a neighboring minibus held twelve deaths and twenty seven wounded.

He states that the US has sent many resources and personnel into Liberia to conquer this outbreak. Officials believe that the cause of the collapse was the addition of floors to the church that the foundation of the building could not support. Many people believe that the youth unemployment statistic is more accurately 50%. Some believe that the new method will not work or pay off and the country should return to the previous socialist system.
