How New-Age Social Media Marketing Is Changing and What You Need to Know

As consumers change how they use and engage with social media, marketers must adjust in order to reach their target audience. Its a new age, way different than the past years and social media has now influenced so much in marketing. There are no longer interest in generic and blatant content and the world is not interested in social media posting or video content. With the most marketing sells in influencer posting, "wear what your favorite celebrity is wearing". It is interesting but it sells. With me being guilty myself.

Interesting how modern technology can change multiple industries in the blink of an eye. When email marketing used to be all the rise, proximity marketing has now become today's king of modern marketing. Everything is tied to your phone. A quick notification can quickly inspire you to purchase an item and within the hour can sell out and benefit the company. As the article says, Proximity marketing is like the real-world call-to-action to a digital advertisement.

Although some people find new day technology a gimmick within hospitality, one Dallas restaurant found robots that have saved him thousands of dollars a month in labor costs as well as the trouble of finding enough human servers to staff his restaurant in a tight market for low-wage workers. This new concept came about within the peak of the pandemic when it was merely a thought prior to. I never saw how the concept chose truly change the actual staff as their positions are still needed but this has proven otherwise. Pudu Robotics the manufacturer has also made the robot quite affordable as They lease for about $500 a month and sell for anywhere between $10,000 to $17,000. Personal customer service and interaction is still preferred by customers but they seem to try to find the product personable as it is customizable and sing songs and more despite cleaning, serving, etc. I do wonder about the turn around should one malfunction or break, but this does look a lot like the future.

As discussed within Hospitality and Tourism Technology Innovations this week, It is crucial to have better protection for businesses. In this article, it shows how a couple weeks ago Carnival was hit with a ransomware attack. Within this attack carnival stated the following "Based on its preliminary assessment and on the information currently known (in particular, that the incident occurred in a portion of a brand's information technology systems), the company does not believe the incident will have a material impact on its business, operations or financial results,""Nonetheless, we expect that the security event included unauthorized access to personal data of guests and employees, which may result in potential claims from guests, employees, shareholders, or regulatory agencies."
Although it didn't directly damage or retrieve information from the internal business it retrieved info from guests. Which is a bigger problem in itself which can then create lawsuits and so forth. With the company being so large, there are many possibilities for more attacks but it isn't like they aren't used to it being that they had a data breach back in May 2019. Seeing how this is regularly occurring to guest and employee info, you would think they look into the option for protecting on the software that is used for those individuals. With the amounts of money the company has to support multiple ships, they should find ways to put aside the time and money to fix this reoccurring issue.

Its amazing the amount of advanced technology has changed the hotel industry over the years with touchless being a top notch service for many hotel guests. You can walk into a hotel with everything located on an app. Starting from the reservation, to placing your card on file, having the food menu at hand and always having keys to your room all on your phone. Guests are relying on this to a fair amount especially traveling now during a pandemic. It states within the article that many hotels have taken the thought of safety and security measures into mind when creating the technology. It is a shame that this is a problem as so throughout the world but it is true that you must be protected especially within a hotel. This provides comfort and safety to the guest which also enhances the guest's experience. I do know within the Marriott and Loews app you are able to instantly chat with hotel operations to help with anything you need to your guests which make it all a one stop shop. With technology within the industry changing, I look forward to the future within hospitality.
