Proximity Marketing: Ultimate guide to proximity advertising in 2019 - 0 views

  •
This article talks about how to come up with the ultimate proximity advertising. Proximity marketing refers to communicating with customers at the right place, the right time, and with highly relevant and personalized messages, on their smartphones - be it greeting at the entry points, special offers in the store aisles, or getting feedback on a new product. Businesses, especially retail and real estate, have been focussing immensely on location for the last decade. This is because reaching out to customers without being sure of the location is just digital marketing, which is not very practical for local businesses. However, marketers and business owners now realize that the targeting needs to be more specific than just GPS and geofencing. Location-based marketing, in simple terms, means communicating with potential customers within a range.

4 Ways Point of Sale Systems Can Help Eliminate Restaurant Fraud | FSR magazine - 0 views

  •
This article goes over four ways that the point of sale systems can help elevate restaurant fraud. The first is to restrict remote access. It is only necessary to allow a limited number of known IP addresses access. Remote connectivity should only be enabled during hours of business and when updates are needed for the system. Using firewalls is highly recommended as another added layer of protection. Keep Wi-Fi and security cameras separate, if they are also connected. Next is to upgrade to EMV, which is chip technology is undoubtedly the most significant way to reduce fraud and criminality. All of the security in the world is essentially rendered useless if POS devices have not been upgraded to support EMV payments. A business also must have a secure network, which includes having firewalls because they are of the utmost importance in a proper security plan. To secure the system, firewalls must be activated, and the number of IP addresses for outbound firewalls must be limited. Lastly, the company must adhere to PCI compliance. Complying with PCI standards provides another layer of security. The Payment Card Industry (PCI) Standards call for merchants that accept, store, process, and transmit card information to do so within a safe environment.

Which is having regular stock checks at unpredictable times, comparison of purchase orders, monitoring of bartender habits when pouring consistency, review of comp practices, policies enforced on break and meal habits, and security monitoring. Hotel Property Management Systems (PMS): Products and Features | AltexSoft - 1 views

  •
This article overall talks about the the different entities within a property management system. First, it goes over the details of what a property management system is which is described as a software that facilitates a hotel's reservation management and administrative task. In more detail these functions include front-desk operations, reservations, channel management, housekeeping, rate and occupancy management, and payment processing. Most PMS nowadays are able to combine multiple work environments into one software. Depending on the type of software the company is using, they are able to combine modules and functions, and the functionality of one module can be slightly different. The reservations side of the PMS is essential because online booking is the main way people book their reservations nowadays. The key modules of reservations consist of room bookings, collections of e-payments, management of room inventory and allocations, reservation emails, and activities bookings. I believe the most crucial operation of the PMS is the front office module which allows for front-desk manager to view and update room reservation status, check guests in and out, and process payments. I do work in a hotel as a guest service agent and we closely work with the PMS in every aspect. When our system went down it seemed almost impossible to check in/check out guests. It was extremely difficult to allocate rooms because we weren't able to use our system to see if housekeeping had punched rooms clean or to see if the room was vacant or occupied. The PMS makes the whole process of a hotel run smoothly. Another important aspect of the PMS is room management which allows us to see up to date reservations and which rooms they are allocated to, also allows us to move around those reservations and modify them.
