7 Event Technology Trends to Explore in 2019 - Eventbrite US Blog - 1 views

  •
So, being an event professional in the hospitality industry this article intrigued me. Some of the trends listed are trends that my clients and I have already been using for a few years now like livestreaming events, I had a wedding in Jamaica in 2015 in which my clients live-streamed their nuptials for those daily and friends who could not make the trip. What I did find intriguing was the Facial Recognition aspect of Event Technology. That is unbelievable to me. I know we now have iPhoneXs and SnapChat that already do this so I guess its just a matter of having the right type of phone and app that is compatible with this feature.

The Mobile Proximity Marketing Advantages and Disadvantages Retailers Must Know - Shopk... - 2 views

  •
This article was a huge help during my additional research on proximity marketing. The article sums up some pros and cons of the software. I think it did a thorough job on explaining some of the points and definitely peaked my interest to do more research. Proximity Marketing seems cool but at the same time it makes me nervous. As consumers we literally don't get a break to simply just function and be normal. This is our new normal, technology overkill that is supposed to help us and make things easier but at times can seem intrusive.

Hospitality technology trend predictions for 2018 - 1 views

  •
This article is very straight forward. Similar to a few that I have posted in the past but I liked that it touched on a couple topics that we have discussed during this class thus far, especially that of Cloud Based Technology. The article mentions that cloud based technology is becoming the new normal this year. There was a lot of fear and skepticism about it previously but the demand for remote access is winning the battle of Cloud Computing. It's making it much more desirable and attractive. Another interesting find in this article was the prediction for 2020 where Priceline/Expedia will own 94% of the online hotel bookings.

Top 10 Hospitality Technology Trends for 2018 - 0 views

This article was a great read. For the most part I have either witnessed some of these advancements or heard about them in some form or fashion. The trend that intrigued me the most, of course, was #9 - Tech Enabled Meeting Spaces. This is ALWAYS a demand for my clients. Will they have wifi, will they have a polycom, adapters for their laptops, etc. Some clients, especially tech groups, that I have want their own entire network created and work hand in hand with our IT department to configure all that needs configuration. I think these trends are great, and positive, trends that if done correctly can meet the guests' expectations and as a result increase GSR (Guest Satisfaction Rates).

This article was a great read, especially in conjunction with the others that were provided this week. It offers additional history on the GDS, where and why it was put together and how it evolved over time. I definitely enjoyed reading it for added knowledge on a topic that I was unaware of prior to this Module.

5 Top Hotel Technology Trends for 2018 - 1 views

This article intrigued me because I became so excited for some of these trends. The main trend that intrigued me was the virtual reality features. I think this is a great marketing tool to have consumers experience a brief glimpse into what it would be like to stay with a property. Some of the other trends I have read about before, i.e the digital concierge and the chatbots. It always interesting to see where the industry might go next.

How to Successfully Select and Implement an HRIS | Human Resources Information System - 0 views

  •
I found this article quite interesting as it outlined and detailed various systems used for human resources management. It takes us through traditional systems and cognitive systems and it also shows us what a typical implementation lifestyle looks like. This basically shows us the evolution of HRMS throughout the last few decades. These systems have helped to streamline the functionality of a Human Resources Manager who needs access to employee records, recruitment details, performance management, payroll and timekeeping, amongst various other responsibilities.
