NPR. Date Broadcasted: Febubary 3, 2011. Genre: Pop culture A show like Gossip Girl is generally considered a girls' show while South Park is considered a boys' show. However, there are some shows that can go either way. Nickelodeon's iCarly does just that. The show is centered around a teenage girl with two best friends and her older brother. One would typically think that a show with the name iCarly, a girls' name, would cater only to girls. However, 45 percent of iCarly viewers are boys. Why? The fact that one of those best friends is a boy and the addition of the older brother evens out the cast gender-wise, making the show more appealing to boys. The comedy in the show also contributes towards that goal. Like Disney's popular show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, iCarly has a gender-neutral cast with a great sense of humor that make the show entertaining to watch for both girls and boys and that is why it has become such a favorite among kids.

This article brutally addresses the use of the term guido and addresses the political relations to Jersey Shore. They discuss how the government of the area regrets allowing the show to be broadcasted, how companies that initially aired their commercials are having second thoughts about keeping their ads on the air, and how the Italian-Americans that live in the area have an opposition to the show and the use of the term guido.

Even though MTV may have wanted this show to have a positive reaction inside the Italian community, but it had the exact opposite. The show has received a lot of complaints and people disagreeing with how the show portrays young Italian Americans and the show might now be cancelled due to that problem.

The author can only think of four! The first being, the Jersey shore is not actually that interesting and this portrayal will attract a lot of teenagers and young adults looking for the fun times shown on the program, boosting Jersey Shore's tourism rates and their economy. Two: this show will kill off the show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," a show that the author apparently dislikes more than Jersey Shore. Three: young people need bad examples to learn what not to do. And four: Now we can shut down all the things that led to the Actors stupidity and bad judgments like the schools they frequented.

This article highlights the continued conflict between the MTV show "Jersey Shore" and the Italian-American group UNICO. UNICO has been critical of the show since the beginning, commenting that the show "perpetuates all sorts of negative stereotypes." The article also discusses how Snooki, a character from the television series, has criticized UNICO and the multiple companies who have pulled their advertisements from the show, including Dell and Dominoes Pizza. In response to the comments, UNICO issued a statement saying "She is not an embarrassment to Italian Americans -- she is actually an embarrassment to the entire human race!!!!"

Unico a group that promotes and enhances the image of Italian Americans and feels that this reality show is completely contradicting everything they stand for. The show follows eight self proclaimed Guido and guidettes, which is a contradictory term used in the Italian-American society.

The residents of Seaside Heights, the town where the MTV show "Jersey Shore" takes place along with Italian-Americans throughout the country are outraged how the show's cast members wear the terms "guido" and "guidet" with pride. Italian-American organizations are demanding the show should be canceled and many companies have stopped advertising for the show. Overall many Italians are upset that the cast members of the television show are proving that the stereotype of Italian-Americans are real in some cases.

NPR: 50 Great Voices is a weekly music oriented podcast. Every week the broadcast showcases a relatively unheard amazing vocalist whom they wish to share with their listeners. Each week of the year a new singer is brought on the show, this episode was broadcasted on February 1, 2011. This week's episode was focused on a jazz/pop singer named Dianne Reeves who the show was interested in because of the fact that she'd so beautifully mixed the two genres. The show provides a brief background history of the singer, i.e. what they've done in the past, who they've worked for, and what records they appear on. After listening to the two songs by Dianne Reeves the show provided I have come to the conclusion that she is an exceptionally talented woman, who is way worth listening to and in the future I would like to see new pieces of her career become public.

This article is a response by many lawmakers around the world to the show "Jersey Shore." They felt that the show is degrading to Italian Americans nationwide, and uses the world "guido" way too much. In response, the MTV team said that the show is not intended to depict Italians stereotypically.

Max Crumm joins Masterworks Broadway to speak about what it is like to be in Grease, and how he got to where he is today.

The crime shows such as CSI have now influenced many courtroom as many people who watch these type of shows would expect more scientific evidence on a case which might be only found on a TV show. Without the use of high tech ways to retrieve evidence, Courtrooms are afraid that jurors might be more tempted to let the person being held on trial to go as they might see it as a lack of evidence or as unconvincing as say one from a CSI.
