Even though MTV may have wanted this show to have a positive reaction inside the Italian community, but it had the exact opposite. The show has received a lot of complaints and people disagreeing with how the show portrays young Italian Americans and the show might now be cancelled due to that problem.

Born and raised in New York and almost all of the people he grew up with were Italian and not one of them acted as disgusting as the cast of Jersey Shore. Overall many Italians are upset that the cast members of the television show are proving that the stereotype of Italian-Americans are real in some cases.
