Travel back in time and around the world with The Travel Film Archive. The Travel Film Archive is a collection of travelogues and educational and industrial films that show the world the way it was between 1900 and 1970. Among our holdings are archives of the renowned travel filmmakers Burton Holmes, Andre de la Varre, and James A. FitzPatrick, as well as footage shot by many other intinerant cameramen. Footage from The Travel Film Archive is available for licensing from Getty Images and the TFA Network of agents, either directly or through this site. At this time we do not provide footage for personal use.

This is a great resource for an alternative to using a textbook. It has resources for US History, World History, and World Religions.

D-Day to Victory is great site that details the events and experiences of soldiers during World War II.

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History

This material from Henry Louis Gates series, The African Americans: Many Rivers To Cross, describes the efforts of a famous all Black regiment during World War I. These black soldiers returning from World War I received a hero's welcome, by blacks and whites alike, in New York City.

World History Maps

This is a wonderful resource - the best on-line zine (oops, I mean e-journal) for world history teachers. Depending on how the editorial board feels, I might have an article published in the next WHC. I found this issue http://worldhistoryconnected.press.illinois.edu/6.2/index.html especially valuable. And the recent articles of James Diskant have been helpful too. A fast, fun overview of world history content. Comparable in some ways to The Millennium series by CNN. Some think this would be good for "flipping" the classroom. I happen to disagree - since it is too fast. Better for review imo.

Entertaining and informative series on topics in world history.

My students LOVE LOVE LOVE this series! I use them as unit openers in my honors world history class to previw the big ideas and hook them to that unit. I create higher order thinking type questions they answer after or questions where they predict things about the unit. But the videos are awesome!

An excellent resource for students studying World War Two.

A useful site for historical images from around the world. I guess the great thing about these kinds of resources is that they're going to grow over time.
