"This material covers the historical background of the Korean War, including the division of Korea at the 38th Parallel between US and Soviet occupation forces; reparations reports involving Korea and economic surveys of Korea following World War II; the United Nations Korean Commission and Reconstruction Agency; Office of Strategic Srevices [OSS] reports on Korea; and relations with Republic of Korea (ROK) President Syngman Rhee. This background material also includes the Wedemeyer Report on China and Korea in 1947. The material on the Korean War itself includes a chronology of events relating to the war in the papers of George M. The Japanese Historical Map Collection contains about 2,300 early maps of Japan and the World. The collection was acquired by the University of California from the Mitsui family in 1949, and is housed on the Berkeley campus in the East Asian Library. Represented in this online collection are over 1100 images of maps and books from this Collection.

"East and SouthEast Asia" Library of Congress internet resources

A collection of over 8000 photos from East Africa from 1860-1960. Probably useful for classroom resources (you know, stick 'em on a worksheet, that type of thing), assessment pieces or in student research. I found with my year 12s that they needed some guidance on how to extract historical information from images ('thinking historically') but after that they used images like these well in their research for their assignments.

Fantastic set of lessons, fully resourced, regarding the lead up to Pearl Harbour.

A great tool for students to use to understand the sequence of events in the Arab Spring and to understand historical significance.  It would be interesting to ask students to compare international responses to the various uprisings and ask them to make a judgement about the fairness of each response.

An excellent list of sites related to Ancient History, focussing mainly on the Classical West and the Near East. I wonder why the Chinese and Indians and others still don't count as 'Ancient History' to most people? A great collection, though.
