he Pioneers Violin, 1971, directed by B. Stepantsev, Soyuzmultfilm. A Nazi soldier tries to force a young Soviet boy scout to play a German song on his violin. Instead he defiantly plays the [then] Soviet national anthem, The International, and is shot by the Nazi. Fyodor Khitruk: Patriotic themes existed and were included into the plan of Goskino (the State Film Committee)...We werent pushed to make films based on these themes, but the political repertoire was put together by what they approved or did not approve, as in feature films and literature. The Pioneers Violin probably wasnt promoted by somebody. They didnt write the scripts on Vasiliev Street [Goskino]. As I remember, Boris Stepanstev who made this film, made it honestly thinking it was needed.Category:Film & Animation

This first part covers the rise of Fascism in Italy, Nazism in Germany, and Militarism in Japan and juxtaposes their political and social systems with that of the U.S. It also portrays the first examples of Japanese aggression in Manchuria and China, as well as the example of Italian aggression in Ethiopia. Supervised and Directed by Frank Capra. Be mindful of the ethnic stereotypes in this film.

A site with over 200 free documentaries on the topic of history. Sorry for the vague tags on sites like this, but the collection is so eclectic that it's hard to be thorough. Searching for region and time period should yield results when you're looking later.

The British School at Rome Archive (BSR) thanks to the Getty Foundation, made freely available digital copies of the John Bryan Ward-Perkins photographic collection. A website of the "BSR digital collections was created to present not only the photographic material (Photographs) but also other types of resources which follow into different categories: Maps, Prints, Documents, Postcards, Drawings, Paintings and Manuscripts". But "the majority of the digital images displayed on the website are represented by the photographic prints and negatives from unique historic collections, including calotypes, glass and film negatives, slides and lantern slides."

Seems to focus more on the history of the British School at Rome rather than Roman history. Should revise the tags at this point but this summer heat here in Queensland is making me lazy...
