Gotta love the British National Archives. More and more of this type of material is being made available.

Very cool! You can download free audiobooks (and for once not all of them are C19th originals; some are quite recent) in a format that plays through iTunes and on your iPod/iPhone. For those of us who use iTunes to get our podcasts/lectures/etc this is good news indeed!

A cornucopia of history sites that I got from the excellent NCSS History group. If I was a really diligent group member I would save them each individually. But I'm not.

Good for basic research or a lesson activity. Some of the articles looked alright. I'm not sure how the content is generated or if it's very reliable.

A large set of collections of photographs and images from a diverse range of time periods and places. Some of them only have sample images, however quite a few have full access. If only Diigo let us use more than 20 tags!

How cool is this? A (hopefully legal...) collection of free documentaries. There are 61 full-length history documentaries at the moment including 'Fog of War', a documentary about the Kennedy administration.

A useful resource for engaging with Gen Y. The rap isn't bad (I think) and the quality of the historical information is quite good for a middle or high school level. They aren't free however they're not too expensive either.

Gotta love these Sourcebooks. Wonder when they'll do an Australian one...?

This is the blog which accompanies the podcast Stuff You Missed in History Class. Like just about all History podcasts, it's easily found through iTunes. My students have found the format on SYMIHC as user-friendly and valuable for their research. Worth a listen.
