The Management, Staff and Students of Hindustan University had the privilege to meet His Excellency, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India, when he visited the University Campus as the Chief Guest of the Programme, on 6th January 2011, to deliver the Silver Jubilee Endowment Lecture as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the University.

Magnate is organized by National Institute of Management Studies, Chennai. This management meet attempts to bring together the management student community to collaborate, challenge their skill sets and in the process enhance their knowledge base through a fun filled experience.

The School of Management Studies, Hindustan University (one of the best Chennai Engineering Colleges) organised a one day National Level Management Meet "POWWOW 2011" on 19th March 2011 at Hindustan University campus. POWWOW 2011 created an extraordinary platform for the Budding Managers from various B-Schools to showcase their managerial skills and an opportunity to challenge the best.

NSS and YRC Units of KCG College of Technology (one of the best Chennai Engineering Colleges) , Karapakkam, Chennai Organized Blood Donation Camp in association with Y's Men Club of Mylapore and Lions Club of Golden Bharath on March 04, 2011 in the College Campus. 232 units of Blood were Collected from the Student and Staff of the College.

On 29th March 2011, Unni Menon's Live Music Concert rocked Hindustan University (one of the best Chennai Engineering Colleges) . Unni Menon is a South Indian film playback singer. He has sung over 3000 songs in South Indian languages like Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Hindustan University (one of the best Chennai Engineering Colleges), won the WCC French Section Culturals Competition, held on 22nd March 2011, at Women's Christian College(WCC), Nungambakkam . A contingent comprising 30 talented participants from Hindustan University represented our institution.

Unmanned air vehicles commonly referred to as UAVs are defined as Powered Air Vehicles sustained in flight by aerodynamic lift over most of their flight path and guided without an onboard crew. Geethu Anna Jose , the first ever Indian Basketball player has been invited to attend the Training conducted by Women's National Basketball Association, Chicago Sky and LA Sparks from 21-24th April 2011. She is the first Indian Player to get this rare and prestigious opportunity . Hindustan University ( one of the best chennai engineering colleges ) has always been rendering their support to the development of sports and true to its spirit Mr. Ashok Verghese , Director of Hindustan University, Chennai, India and President of Hindustan Sports Foundation has expressed his solidarity to sponsor Geethu Anna Jose young icon of Basketball to fulfill her dreams to make history in creating a mark at the international level and bring fame to our nation.

Chiaroscuro 2011, a Photography and Architecture Symposium was conducted by the School of Architecture, Hindustan University (One of the Best Chennai Engineering Colleges) on 29th March 2011. Ms. Sheeba Chander, HOD , School of Architecture addressed the gathering. Mr.S.Venkatraaman, Ace photographer & Media expert was the Chief Guest. Mr. S. Venkataraaman, spoke about the different types of cameras, lenses and the proper use of the same. He explained in detail the difference between shutter & aperture and that it's the sensor size that matters & not the mega pixels. He firmly believes that it's not the camera that matters but the person behind it.

A Two day National Conference on Communication Networks and Sensor Technology-NCCNS'11 was organized by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering & Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from 18th-19th April 2011 as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science.

National Conference on Energy, Systems and Control -NCESC'11 was organized by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering for two days from 20th - 21st April ,2011 as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Hindustan University, (One of the Best Chennai Engineering Colleges ).

Hindustan University , (One of the Best Chennai Engineering Colleges ) Inaugurated the Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit on 28th March 2011, amidst great enthusiasm. The Chief Guest was Mr. George Cherian, CEO of Raj Impex and an active socialist. The Dean, Dr. John Morais, HOD, Mr. Srinivasan and the Registrar Dr. Pon Ramalingam, presided over the inauguration. Ms. Ramakrishnasayee, Asst. Prof. (English) organized the programme.

The best basketball players in India came out to put up an extraordinary display of skill, athletic ability, and hoops intelligence at the Mastan YMCA court in Nagpada, Mumbai on Saturday, April 9 at the Indian All Star Games. The finest Indian men and women players, from all across the country, were invited to play in these exhibition matches that produced plenty of thrills and a few dominating performances.For both the games, the players were divided into two teams each, WEST and EAST.

It was a curious scene - outside the Mastan YMCA court, was the poor Nagpada area, that of thin lanes, population outbursts, and some of the best kebabs known to man. Enter the court and it was a slightly different world, where the finest Men & Women basketball stars from all across the country gathered together for a novel Indian All Star event. They wore fancy new jerseys, participated in glittering photo shoots, and signed autographs.

Now, I will be the first to admit that I don't know right from left when it comes to NCAA basketball in the States. Since barely any games or promotion is done in India, it is only out of curiousity that I know anything at all about it. It is important for me, for instance, to know where the world's best basketball player in the NBA came from, or what kind of challenges and competition they had in their younger years.

"National Franchisee Training Programme" was conducted for final year EEE students from 24.02.2011 to 26.02.2011 at Hindustan University (one of the best Chennai Engineering Colleges).
