I like this article because it speaks to the unrealistic expectation of being like a superhero. It talks about how normal people cannot achieve the physical physique of these actors because they just don't have the resources. This article helps prove that we associate superheroes with muscular physiques, but that it is not achievable for the average person.

This infographic is awesome! It was interesting looking at the infographic statistics compared to the cross tabulations. Some statistics correlated perfectly but others were complete opposites.

I found this infographic awesome as well. It was interesting to relate the statistics in these infographics to the cross-tabulations of the data we collected as a group. Some were consistent, while others were not. For example, this infographic showed black as being the most common color of villains, where our cross-tabulations showed that villains wore more light and bright colors. Interesting information and easy to read.

This scholarly article introduces color theory as applied to movies.  Yes, you may use theories that we haven't discussed.

This article has exposure effect in it. The more superhero hero movies that come out the more we like them. Since 2000 the box office has made much more money on superhero movies than they have in the past.

This article expands on military in superhero movies. It discusses the militarization of the heroes in these films and how the violence and weaponry have shifted from fantasy to hyper-realism. I think it raises some interesting points.

It also shows the impact of society and recent events and their affect on how our own superheroes are then portrayed to its audience. Our superheroes have to be continually updated, and in this instance, in terms of weaponry to (in a sense) stay relevant to the audience.

There has been a lot of talk about the inclusion of female roles in superhero movies. But instead of them being supporting roles, we are looking for them to star in their own films. We are looking for spin off movies for black widow, who played supporting roles in Iron Man and The Avengers. But they are also talking about bringing back Wonder Woman.

This article really shows how important the first female-led debute is right now and how if Marvel doesn't take advantage of it then someone else will. It's a big step but one that needs to be made and this article makes that clear. I really enjoyed reading it!

I thought this article was very interesting. It touched base on how there is a demand for a female lead in a superhero movie instead of just a supporting role. One of the quotes mentioned in the article that I found interesting was that directors and producers were hesitant to make a female super hero movie because Catwoman and Elektra which starred female super heroes as the main character received poor consumer response in the box offices.

Does there always have to be an origin behind a superhero movie? Could they come up with a new movie, introduce a new superhero and not show us how they became a superhero? Or do we have to have background information for the movie to mean something to us? I think without origins there are so many questions that would be left unanswered.

Comic book movies are still hot stuff for the moment, but there's definite danger signs ahead. The biggest one right now is Batman Vs Superman, which will also include Wonder Woman, possibly other heroes as well. This has all been inspired by The Avengers, and the studios are trying to line up similar superhero teams in the wake of its success.

I really liked this article. It talks about real crime with superheroes and if they were actually real we may be in big trouble. They used an example about homeowners insurance. How if superman threw a car into your house--most likely your insurance wouldn't cover it which could result in the homeowner suing the superhero. Similar to The Incredibles when Mr. Incredible is sued for saving a man who didn't want to be saved.

This article is going to be extremely helpful in answering one of my subquestions: Do superheroes have good morals? The way this article breaks down moral values by different categories and even different superheroes will be a great resource for more information that goes beyond the statistics we gathered.
