High Prevalence of Cancer to Boost Demand for Contrast Media/Contrast Agent - 0 views

  •
A contrast agent (also called a contrast medium) is an electrically charged material used in medical imaging to enhance the contrast of medical vessels or other tissues in the body. Contrast media/contrast agent either absorbs or changes ultrasound or electromagnetism, which is fundamentally different from radiopharms, which themselves emit electromagnetic radiation. This difference enables contrast agents to be applied to various body tissues with much higher strengths than their non-comp contrast counterparts. The most common contrast media/contrast agent used in medical imaging are CT contrast agents and MRI contrast agents. However, due to their non-magnetic nature, these medical imaging products are not able to be used on organ tissues, such as kidneys, hearts and lungs. Some manufacturers have now started manufacturing non-magnetic, biologically engineered CT and MRI contrast agents called mri-notherapy (mammography, radiofrequency ablation, and ultrasound contrast agents). High prevalence of cancer is expected to boost demand for contrast media. In the U.S., non-magnetic, biologically engineered CT and MRI contrast agents are now being used more frequently to treat patients with benign tumors of all types. Mri-notherapy is used for benign cancers of the breast (breast cancer), abdomen (belly fat), neck, head, joint (arthritis) and spine. Patients with melanoma, anemia, inoperable basilar artery disease, and multiple myeloma are also often treated with mri-notherapy. The therapy has a high success rate for benign tumors and very low incidence of mortality, espeacially in patients undergoing surgery. Moreover, recently, in November 2020, the U.S. FDA approved GE Healthcare's macrocyclic gadolinium-based MRI contrast agent, Clariscan (gadoterate meglumine), in pre-filled syringes. Multiple Myeloma Drugs are Getting Better with Major Pharmaceutical Companies Laying Em... - 0 views

  •
Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer that forms a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. In multiple myeloma, cancerous plasma cells gather around the bone marrow and crowd out healthy cells. Some of the most common symptoms of multiple myeloma are pain in the back or bones, anemia, fatigue, and kidney damage. Multiple myelomas can be identified by a biopsy, which is conducted when tissue samples from the affected area are taken and examined under a microscope. When multiple myelomas are detected on an examination, it is typically very easy to remove them with a scalpel, and in many cases, surgeons will opt to remove only one lobe of tissue at a time. There has the development of various multiple myeloma drugs over the years with key industry players being involved in continuous research and development activities. Selinexor is one of the latest U.S. FDA-approved drug for multiple myeloma and is used to treat people suffering from relapsed or refractory disease. Furthermore, Ixazomib is the first and only oral proteasome inhibitor, indicated for multiple myeloma treatment. Tissue and Organ Transplantation Has Become Significantly Popular With Kidneys, Liver, ... - 0 views

  •
Tissue and Organ Transplantation is a complex medical procedure where an organ is transplanted from one human body to another human body, to replace a missing or damaged organ. The patient who has had their organ transplantation may not be aware of what happens during the procedure. The organ transplantation can either take place inside the patient's body, or the patient's body and organs are taken to a different location for transplantation. The transplant can also take place outside the patient's body; however, this is less common. There are two basic ways that Tissue and Organ Transplantation takes place. The first involves a person's own body being used as a donor organ, and this can be done when a person is born, during childhood, or through the age of death. The other method of organ transplantation involves a donor organ coming from another person, usually an older person who is capable of receiving a transplant.
