Brand Ambassador Vidya Balan attended the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne Conference (IFFM) as the Victorian Coalition Government extended its support for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne by one year, reinforcing strong bond that exists between the Victorian and Indian screen industries.Recently the actress spoke at length about various aspects of her film-career. She is also well-aware that her weight is the talk of the town at the moment.“My weight has become the talking point of the nation. Why is everyone bothered about it? Is it a national issue?  I am just trying to work on my body shape, keeping in mind my character in the film. Believe me, I am not doing anything special. I am not dieting. I am happy with the way I look and hope people would leave it at that,” says, Vidya.At the same time, she is geared up to play first female detective of India in upcoming film Bobby Jasoos. The Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha production is being directed by debutant Samar Shaikh. “Samar is a very talented director. I am really looking forward to working with him,” she says. The movie goes on floor in November.

And I am glad to be part of Bollywood.Why did you sign Jackpot?The film has a very interesting story. Sachiin Joshi and I hang out in the same circles. And I am the brand ambassador of his energy drink brand XXX. Kaizad's narration was excellent and I liked the content and style appealed to me. And Naseer saab was in. And that was a great feeling.Naseeruddin Shah is one of the greatest actors of India. What is your experience working with him?He is amazing. He makes you feel so much at ease. I am blessed.Are you learning Hindi and Dance?Yes. Even during the shoot of Jackpot, I was busy with Ragini MMS dance in the evening. There is so much to be done.Tell us about your role in Jackpot?I play Maya in Jackpot. The role has varied shades. On one hand, I am the manager of Naseeruddin Shah's casino, and on the other hand, I am the love interest of Francis essayed by Sachiin. And all of us are cons out to out with one another. You don't know which side of the fence Maya is on, or whether she is fence herself. And in that lies the interest.

Megastar Shah Rukh Khan was recently invited to the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), where he said that he is looking forward to take Bengali lessons from actress-politician Jaya Bachchan, as he wants to be a true Bengali."Thank you Kolkata for adopting me and giving me the opportunity to be here. I have been coming here for the last three years and I promise you next time I am here I will speak in Bengali so Jaya aunty feels I am truly, truly from Kolkata then. One may recall that during the inaugural ceremony Jaya Bachchan had said that her hubby Amitabh Bachchan, SRK, and Kamal Haasan are non-real Bengalis. For those unaware, SRK is also the brand ambassador of West Bengal, and he hoped that such festival assist in giving a boost to Indian films."Festivals like this one express collective happiness over life, I think. I hope creative interactions of this scale help Indian films reach the height that great filmmakers present tonight, and those who passed away, like the wonderful Rituparno, dreamt of for Indian film," Khan added.
