Hey guys so I was thinking that we could use the argument, technology has not increased but decreased because of it students are reading less and less book in there free team and with text and social networks their grammar and punctuation and with things like auto correct knowning how to spell a word properly is not as important when your phone or computer can do it for you.

Do you guys agree with this have anything to add or change? This is just a thought by the way just and idea.

I like it, because we're supposed to refute the statement and that pretty much sums up what we're going to be stating

Yes it is very true that social media deeply impacts their grammar, they rely on tools such as auto-correct instead of learning how a word is truly spelled. This will back fire on them when they try to hand write out a professional paper using slang terms such as ur, u, idk, bc, etc..

It looks like we are all on the same page from our links we all bookmarked. We should definitely go with that argument . I have found a great article about our topic along with everyone else that they found.

Yes I agree with the argument. The auto correct spells for you not letting the young mind learn the correct spelling on their own. Even for some adults too. Auto correct does it all for you so if you ever have to write out the word on a piece of paper, your brain halts because the piece of paper doesn't have auto correct.

And also I think we should pick who the person who will turn in our project to Eddie. And who on here has AIM? I know Matthew said he had but does anyone else it was be easy to talk to each other on there.

At the bottom I had just added a link to one of my lists I had thrown a couple of articles in to help for the debate. https://www.diigo.com/list/brandiburke/Team+B/2lwachl29 . I double checked and it all says public. I know Diigo is having hiccups lately and could be the temporary reason why some items are not being able to be seen.Just a thought.

I fixed it! sorry guys my fault I didn't know it I had to approve it before it showed so everyone.
  • Brandi Burke

It's ok. I didn't know it had to be approved. Never saw a "Approval by moderator" or anything of that sort listed anywhere. All good.

I know right! I went to the link you put up and start to add the things you had on there to here. But it shows up has mine and not that you found it. I know that our teacher will see this so I don't want it to look you didn't add anything so I'm doing to see how to fix it.

The teacher will see that I had made a "List" and added the link to this group you created and it has the dates on it showing when I had made it/added links to it/and posting it to the group. It's all good. Even though it shows in the group individually you posting, it shows down the link I had posted of the couple links I had that I thought would be helpful to the group.Double the link posting never hurts.

All good.Every message is written in acronyms, abbreviations, symbols. As great as it is to be up on the latest technology, the shortcuts and auto-correcting are promoting laziness to an extent.

    Ok I will do that.
