I initially had trouble finding the lesson linked to in week 5's session. I searched the website for the title of the lesson mentioned on the syllabus. This is the lesson that came up in my search.

This website is a great glossary of many Supreme Court cases that dealt with interpreting the Bill of Rights. Some of the topics covered are Religious Liberty, Personal LIberty, Students, Freedom of Speech. This website is a great resource for anyone trying to teach the Bill of Rights through cases.

This is another website that provides background information on the 1st Amendment. I like this website because it talks about a few Supreme Court decisions and justices that have asserted that freedom of Speech is absolute. Similarly, this website does a pretty good job of describing current issues and challenges to free speech.

This is a great 1st Amendment overview provided by Cornell University Law School. It explains the basics of of the amendment. However, it also goes into some of the limits and restraint within the amendment.

This is an interesting NYT article that discusses America's view of the Constitution, and the impact the Constitution had on the rest of the world. It chronicles the ways other countries were impacted by the Constitution. For instance, countries that created Constitutions strikingly similar to the U.S.

This is a great video explanation of the Electoral College. I use this with my classes when teaching the Electoral College. It has a great way of explaining the process and why the Electoral College evolved the way it did.

Transcripts of the Constitution that could be excerpted or used in entirety with classes. This website contains high resolution images and also transcripts of documents. Furthermore, it has background and history of the documents.

Great TED talk videos that pertain to U.S. History and the Constitution. I used one of these in my class that discusses creating the Presidency. At the end of the video is asks students to think about what they would have included when creating the Presidency.

This is a youtube clip of James Earl Jones reading an excerpt of Frederick Douglass's "4th of July Speech" -- As referenced in Week 2's Discussion Thread. For a long time I used this excerpt, because I didn't know about the David Blight podcast. I still think that this version is one of the most dramatic -- after all -- it is James Earl Jones.

This is a website that gives detailed analysis of the Pros and Cons of divisive issues debated by American society. It's a great way to start many a debate. Furthermore, it has specific connections to many Constitutional debates like Gun Control, Capital Punishment, and Citizenship.

These are great document analysis worksheets that could be used with any of the founding documents. I have specifically used them with major speeches and texts. I think these could also be used for an initial investigation of the Bill of Rights or Declaration of Independence.

This is an Interesting, but busy graphic about the 4th of July past and present. It provides interesting statistics and information about the day in 1776 and also modern traditions and interpretations. I think this graphic could be great for a small discussion about the most American of holidays.
