The Oyez Project is the best site available for Supreme Court decisions and business currently before the court. As I write this description, there are currently two articles about the court considering same-sex marriage issues on the front page.

Documentary from the American Social History Project. It looks at the American Revolution from a social history perspective. It follows the events of the 1770s from the perspective of a Boston shoemaker. Interesting take. I've found the documentaries produced by this organization to be excellent.

Excellent site in general. The video and audio are high quality and, I am sure, are quite accessible for students of all level.s

 A huge library of the founding documents and a timeline.  Many of the documents include a glossary.  However, many of the connected sites don't work.  Also just be careful as this website does seem to have a right wing agenda. 

This is a great site that offers kid-firendly information about voting and voting rights.  It is interactive with timelines, history, ways to get involved and personal stories.

Growing Voters is a curriculum initiative project created by Lesley University Professor Jo-Anne Hart. Its purpose is to provide free ideas, activities, and tools directly for teachers to help grow in students the habit of participation and ultimately incubate pre-eligible voters.

Tough read for kids but great background for teachers.

A good daily summary of what issues were discussed every day of the Constitutional Convention. Can be used in conjunction with Madison's notes which can be found on the Avalon Project

I was just doing the election of 1800 with my class and used this entertaining video to introduce a mini-project on the 1800 campaign. It used actual words that the mouthpieces of Adams and Jefferson used to produce a modern-day attack ad

I love this! High schools kids are sophisticated enough to read between these lines and I can imagine you have fun with this!

This includes the full text of David Walker's famous anti-slavery pamphlet "Appeal to the Colored Citizens of the World" and history about David Walker. This may be particularly significant to our students as David Walker was from Boston, Massachusetts.

This is a great site for younger students to gain some knowledge about voting rights in this country. Its very easy to navigate, kid friendly and presents brief amounts of text on each page. 3rd-5th graders would find this a helpful introduction to voting rights.

A printable PDF timeline of voting rights from the Northern California Citizenship Project's Mobilize the Immigrant Vote 2004 Capacity Building Series. Formatted in a very readable graphic organizer that can be cut and pasted as part of a larger visual timeline project, or simply as a reading resource. Timeline entry summaries are concise yet cogent and range from 1776 to 2002. It could be interesting to have students conduct research to fill in the gap from 2002 to present.

A great resource that chronicles policies and events related to the subject of voting rights.
