Really, there are so many apps available it can be hard to know where to begin and once you find something that looks useful, it's difficult to assess it properly until you've download and installed it on your iPad. iPad music apps that are free can take away the risk of choosing a dud and they can be useful when book-listing apps for students on a tight budget.

How do make a PBL teacher « - 1 views

  •
Interesting post from a prolific Ed blogger who has always written about Ed and the "bleeding edge" worth following and very readable. This post posits that if we are to introduce a non Americanised version of PBL then we should expect systematic change over a long period of time so that it becomes ingrained in the learning culture of the school. I particularly like this position because it takes into account the longevity of the teachers capacity not only to with stand the change but also to be part of the new paradigm.

Making Thinking Visible: How to Promote Engagement, Understanding, and ... - Ron Ritchh... - 0 views

  •
Creativity is the act of thinking. Whether you are deliberately engaged in thought for the purpose of making novel connections or in a state of incubation where the creative process is happening somewhere in the deep unconscious it is thinking that you are doing. Making thinking visible is a must read and have for all schools who are wanting to promote thinking. The thinking  routines outlined in this book are easily implemented and have robust research from Harvard Graduate School Of Education that demonstrate their effectiveness.

Math Worksheet Generator - 0 views

You will probably need virtual box or parrallels installed for this one to be effective on a Mac. If you have a PC then you will need Word 07 to take advantage of all the features. Not a big fan of maths worksheets but a generator can be handy for that spontaneous diagnostic test.

remember to read this and talk to sit team about it
  • Today I was lucky enough to be part of a small group of innovative educators from around Australia at a focus group in Melbourne. We were reviewing the Graduate Teacher Standards of the National Professional Standards for Teachers and elaborating on these in regards to ICT integration.
  • This is an exciting project which will shape pre-service education and hopefully bring about an exceptional standard of graduate teachers across Australia. Despite feeling a little overwhelmed by acronyms, it was great to meet some Twitter friends face-to-face and engage in some stimulating conversation with like minded professionals.
