Cointelegraph is rolling out a list of who it believes to be the most important and influential people in the cryptocurrency and blockchain world. They're rolling it out 10 people per day, starting with #100 so it will be a few weeks before #1 is known. As of February 9 they had covered the top 30 which didn't include @Kiffmeister so the big question is, does he make the top 70 or not!

The IMF's @Kiffmeister charted a technology path for central bank digital currencies in a recent webinar hosted by The Block.

The European Central Bank (ECB) published a slew of PowerPoint presentations from its two parallel central bank digital currency (CBDC) workstreams (wholesale and retail).

The Paxos Settlement Service has gone live, allowing for the simultaneous exchange of cash and a select number of U.S.-listed securities on Paxos' own private version of ethereum.

Here's the updated master list of countries where *retail* central bank digital currencies are being actively explored, according to publicly-available information. I count 48 in total of which 11 have done or will soon do limited-scale pilots.

Opposition to centralized control of money is deep-seated in American political history - dating back to fights over central banking that split the country's founders - and one that can confound observers. John Kiff, who worked for 25 years at the Bank of Canada, and now publishes a newsletter tracking global CBDC development, described the U.S. political firestorm as "a bunch of bozos trading bullshit."

Is the International Monetary Fund (IMF) really hostile to crypto? Many in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space think so, according to this CoinTelegraph article. However, CoinTelegraph was kind enough to offer me and the Atlantic Council's Josh Lipsky the chance to rebut.

"A former International Monetary Fund (IMF) official, John Kiff, believes that CBDCs need to function offline and that such technology already exists in the form of stored-value cards, which were introduced in the 1990s, according to a blog post published on the IMF website on Sept. 26."
