European scientists of OPERA working out of the CERN large haydron collider at Geneva have reported this week that they have seen neutrinos going 60 (+/- 10 milliseconds) milliseconds faster than the speed of light. This contradicts Einsteins famous equation of e=mc2 which states that the fastest an object can go is the speed of light since all of the energy is put into light energy, and none into mass. American scientists at FERMILAB Chicago are testing this hypothesis this week. This is probably human error and I pray that when the computers take over, we wont have to deal with human error or emotion.

Mozilla is testing a computer tablet that runs Firefox. This tablet is slightly bigger that the ones that are out right now, but it helps bring elements to the screen, such as tabs, for example. This tablet might be ideal to people who are used to the computer layout and bigger screens and menu bars at the top o f the internet screen.

2 per week right? It's been finally done, Apple's fascist stranglehold on the walled garden of apple has lessened as Adobe has announced the creation of a flash media server. This flash media server is similar to cloud computing as flash content is processed off the device on a larger machine which outputs the data back onto your device. This method bypasses the fact that apple devices lack flash to deliver flash content to the masses. Lets admit nobody uses html 5 yet. Rule Britannia!

Apple says that flash is not safe which was proven when some coders found a major security flaw within adobe flash a few months ago. They say that because flash is propitiatory it will interfere in their software/hardware production which apple excels in because they are in full control of the entire process. But there's also the fact that apple is making millions off of the games sold off of the appstore. If flash was available, those games would not need to be bought but instead be played for free via the internet

Everyone is familiar with the infamous Blue Screen of Death, right? Well, Windows 8 has revamped their ever so annoying alert. The error codes most commonly seen on computers when the feared Blue Screen appears are gone, replaced with a sad emoticon that still leaves you guessing what's wrong. It does tell you that the PC is rebooting, but not why. Still infuriating and rather pointless. :(

The article said that windows 8 is going to be the next big thing in computers, its said to be the future of computers. This is mainly because of of its lack of a mouse pad. instead it uses a stylis, so that you can write on the screen and it will recogize the style of writing. its is also portable however the article said that the screen is oddly shaped. Window 8 use more apps and the cloud will make it even better. This article basically explains all of the new features with windows 8 and how it is useful.

this does not exactly have anything to do with computing and stuff like that, but the creator of apple, one of the richest, and most known company in the world has died today. after the release of the iphone 4s that is a major upgrade to the iphone 4. anyway it is a sad day for apple users :(

Military drones based in Pakistan have been hacked this week by an unknown source. They have yet to turn on their masters and the hacking has been so far benign. The question is, who is doing the hacking? This outlines the government's susceptibility to computer attack. Their ignorance and dependance on conventional warfare will fire back at them one day.

German states used malware to spy on their citizens. Infected computers were able to be turned on and used remotely by the German government. This included the government being able to track what the person was typing and turning their webcam on/off.

Who doesn't love Facebook, twitter, and/or Google? Are you looking for work and love computers? Does this sound like a really bad infomercial? Yes, but that's not the point. there are, as expected, perks to working at Twitter, Google, Facebook, or even companies like LinkedIn and others. TALK TO THE HAND!! Microsoft launches a new product which is called "OmniTouch." It can be used on really anything, on any surface that sense finger position. you can use the OmniTouch on arms, hands, notebooks, and tables. It uses a picoprojector and a 3D scanner similar to kinect. 

Soon you, too, will be able to talk to the hand. A new interface created jointly by Microsoft and the Carnegie Mellon Human Computer Interaction Institute allows for interfaces to be displayed on any surface, including notebooks, body parts, and tables. The UI is completely multitouch and the "shoulder-worn" system will locate the surface you're working on in 3D space, ensuring the UI is always accessible. It uses a picoprojector and a 3D scanner similar to the Kinect.

John McCarthy father of artificial intelligence and lisp (programming language) has passed away yesterday. There has been alot of computer pioneers passing away.

This article talks about how Facebook is wanting to improve their mobile aps and their HTML5. The article says how almost half of Facebook's users are on actively on mobile devices, and I am one of them. I barely have time to go on the computer anymore so I'm always on the Facebook app on my blackberry, so I think its great that they're trying to improve their aps and make it so that Facebook will be available on any kind of phone. It is so much more convenient to be able to use Facebook on your mobile device than on an actual desktop. Bret Taylor even predicts that a few years from now, almost every person at Facebook is going to be working on mobile, and I could see why he would say that.

Now 10 years later when we have the shiny Windows 7 out, and Windows 8 coming out soon, we must remember the OS that changed it all, Windows XP. This is the reason we have all these things that we didn't have before like talking to friends via our PC, Wireless networking and more. Happy birthday Windows XP, you are always better than Vista.

Maybe this has nothing to do with computers, but you really should take a look and think about this. Make your own costume for Halloween. It's more creative, original, and more fun, plus it'll save you money, and maybe you're saving up for the new iPhone . Nothing to do with technology, but it could help in the long run. I think. 

Cameras are so annoying. Like, you have to HOLD them to take a picture! Honestly. As you've no doubt thought at least once before in your life, while taking a picture, "can I just throw the camera?" Well, apparently the people from this company have, and so created a camera that you can throw that takes pictures, and have thus christened it, the "Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera." Suitable name. This camera can allegedly take 360-degree panoramic photos, simply by throwing it up into the air, which is probably where they got its name from. You throw the camera directly into the air, and when it reaches the apex, all 36 cameras automatically take a picture. Using a specific computer program, these pictures are digitally stitched together, and you are able to navigate your own way through the 360-degree picture. Watch the video, and you'll see that the results are very impressive. The drawbacks? The ball cannot spin when it is thrown up into the air, and don't even THINK about dropping it, because despite the foam padding, it will be ruined if it drops. Maybe you should bring a catcher's mitt on your trip. And it's HUGE. Like, soccer ball huge. Where on Earth are you going to put this thing, anyways? Certainly not in a purse or a pocket. Innovative, and a step forward from the old-fashioned cameras everyone still uses today, and yet very impractical.

The iPod touch is basically like a laptop  and a iPhone put together to make the iPod. You can surf the web, download apps, check your emails and much more. And with the newer version you can watch movies. For just a slim and 32 gigs of storgae its pretty amazing and way better then carrying around a computer.

Best Buy is having a sale on the HP's TouchPad tjhat barley survived the first month of putting their product out to the public. But now if you buy a HP computer for only $149 you can get a TouchPad. What I don't understand is if it barley made a month of sales what makes anyone think that they will be able to sell the HP TouchPad's? 

When people decide they have no use for old technology and do not think twice before throwing it out, they probably do not realize that their outdated piece of hardware finds its grave half way across the world. Possibly even in Guiyu, China where the largest electronic waste or "E-waste" dump site exists. People are oblivious to the fact that this is a recurring problem, not just a small matter of sorting and recycling through a few pieces of plastic, metal and wires. This black hole of scrapped computers, television sets, air conditioners and even refrigerators is toxic towards the environment, and is contaminating the growth of crops all around the area, such as rice, from the gases of the poisonous elements contained within the gadgets to make them work. The consuming pile of E-waste is not just environmentally deadly but also causes health hazards, along with the expensive and dangerous recycling operations that are needed. If people continue to neglect this issue, E-waste will continue to grow, swallow the earth with a blanket of harmful bi-products and affect everyone's lives, which is something we do not want. E-waste is hazardous and will eventually kill the planet with the path that it seems to be following without any real rise against the issue. This is such a nice way to give back to the environment don't you think? Polluting the earth and by proxy ourselves with technological garbage is obviously a smart thing to do, as if we aren't destroying the world enough already.
