Twitter Sues Five Spamming Sites - 0 views

  •
As the title says, Twitter is suing several spamming sites that make it easier for people to spam on Twitter. These sites are in violation of "The Twitter Rules" and are being charged for doing so. While I, myself, do not use Twitter, I still understand the actions that are being put here. Spamming is definitely an annoying thing but when it comes to happening constantly, like what Twitter is facing, I find it understandable that they are taking action here.
  •
I think it is important that Twitter puts a stop to spammers. Spam clutters the user's  timeline and ultimately slows it down. Since Twitter is becoming increasingly popular, it is essential that it controls and persecutes spammers who try to bring it down. Twitter shows that it is serious about maintaining an efficient and updated social network by punishing the spammers with lawsuits. Twitter takes action towards spammers and other potential threats and proves to its users and potential users that it is in control and will do whatever it takes to stay on top.

  •
A WARNING TO ALL TWITTER USERS! A Twitter phishing scam is spreading via direct messages. The DM will say "There is a rumor/blog going around about you (LINK) might want to read it." Do NOT click on this link. If you do, every single one of your followers will be spammed with the same message, and your account WILL be compromised, and you WILL be hacked. If you click on this link, whether by accident or because you don't listen, change your password immediately and often. Delete messages you never sent, and look out for links like the one you were spammed with. Revoke access to any suspicious applications. Follow the step-by-step guide provided by Twitter on what to do if you click on it. DON'T CLICK ON THIS MESSAGE!

Peak Gmail: Too Many Messages, Not Enough Space, And, Finally, A Way Out | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
This article is about having too many emails, messages, etc. on your gmail, this prevents you from having space to receive or to send messages to other people. You will need more storage for you to receive more emails. But its not just emails that take up space. Its also your junk, and your spams. There are a couple of solutions for this. You can delete the emails that are not important to you anymore. You can also buy storage, so that you can have more space on your gmail. And you can also Archive your gmails to Google Drive. This would be the most helpful way of doing it. A group of people thought of the idea of making a script that archives old gmails to Google Drive. They also made a website called jellybend.com that shows you a tutorial video and useful scripts that work on Gmail and goggle apps. By archiving your emails, you can free up your inbox space, allowing you to receive and send emails to other people. Even though those emails arent relevant to you anymore, it might be useful to someone else. To do this: you have to make a copy of a Google Spreadsheet that has the script built-in. It makes a special label in Gmail. You add things to that label, then you return to the spreadsheet, click a button and those messages are archived to Google Drive.

Some Guy Bought the Data of 1.1 Million Facebook Users for Just 5 Bucks - 0 views

  •
Bogomil Shopov, a Bulgarian blogger and digital rights activist, bought 1.1 million Facebook names, user IDs and e-mails for the ridiculously low price of 5 dollars. Luckly for us, he was not trying to spam people, or use this info in a negative way. Instead he wanted to see how bad the facebook security really is. And it turns out to be really bad. According to the seller of the information, a Gigbucks user with the handle "mertem," the data was collected from Facebook applications."The information in this list has been collected through our Facebook apps and consists only of active Facebook users, mostly from the US, Canada, UK and Europe," reads the Gigbucks post. This can affect us a lot because there are a lot of teenager (our age) facebook users. If instead of person who was trying to prove a point was a spammer, the information that we have on facebook can be in danger.  Facebook is currently looking into the breach of user data but they haven't yet come to a resolution.

YouTube's 301 View Count Explained: Spam Detection - 0 views

  •
Look at any famous active youtuber who uploads regularly, and it's pretty hard not to notice this. The view counter stops at 301, and only updates after a certain amount of time (a day), and then makes this giant leap to 10,000 or whatever. I took the liberty of looking this up myself, and here's a pretty brief explanation of  what's going on: Youtube stops the counter to verify the authenticity of the clicks on the video, and future clicks. They try to detect, and eliminate counterfeit views. This is some cool info right here, maybe Google is only getting started on identifying fakes. Something similar Google has done to this is changing your novelty nickname to a real name to comment on youtube. Start to a more identifiable internet, perhaps!

Production Savvy - The Email Overload Fix - 0 views

When you have a messy inbox, utilize "SaneBox" for all your organizational needs! Most of us have experienced inbox flooding, so SaneBox is a must-have for any people looking to prioritize. What's different about SaneBox is the way it uses your email. It analyzes your email relationships and decides what's important based on previous actions. Then, it summarizes your mail into a daily digest so you don't miss out on what's important to you. It "literally" saved the author of this article 2 hours when going through his inbox. SaneBox also includes productivity apps and customizable setting, so another plus. I guess using this is a possibility, seeing how most of my inbox is spam. If SaneBox realized that all I ever click on is account confirmation emails, and that nothing else even matters, that would be the greatest.

Google opens real time analytic beta, but releases 500 email addresses - 1 views

  •
Google has released analytic beta, and all of the tools that come with it to hundreds more people. but in the process, spills all of those email addresses to everyone who received the beta, so when you have about 500 more people in the "to" when sending an email, then it happened to you. this is not good, because then people can send anyone all kinds of SPAM.
