Where Speech Recognition Is Going - 0 views

  •
This article says how much speech recognition software has already grown. Ask someone 10 years ago if they thought it would be possible to ask your phone to call some or to remind you to do something at 2pm and they would say you were dreaming. A new company has come out for android called Dragon software which is going ti be used to compete with siri. There are rumors that apple was planning to build a tv with voice software and that so is Dragon software. How convenient would that be; just to ask your tv to pull up the walking dead .

Robots Play Ping-Pong: The End is Near [VIDEO] - 0 views

  •
Forget Apple's Siri voice recognition technology taking over the world. I have seen two robots playing ping-pong and now I am truly scared for humanity. Named "Wu" and "Kong," these two human-sized robots are the products of China's Zhejiang University. They play ping-pong not only against each other, but will take on humans as well. In the video, it's clear they're as adept at forehand shots as they are at the backhand.

Google is Getting a Voice Search - 0 views

  •
This article discuses the fact that google TV is now getting a voice search. I think this is a very good thing because it would save a great deal of time for everyone while they are scrolling through google. You now do not need to spend countless minutes scrolling through pages and pages of information and finding what you need. The voice search will allows you to find the exact information you need at a certain point of time. Google's also adding Primetime, an unobtrusive improvement to the on-screen guide. In my opinion this would be a good addition to google. I and lots of other students use google for help with homework, assignments, and just general research. Now students will be able to find the exact information they need, and in a very short period of time.

The IRIS 9000 allows the user to plug in their iPhone into this dock and shout commands at it from across the room while holding down the wireless receiver button, and can receive calls using speaker phone or send emails and basically do anything that Siri can do from across the room.

hen it comes to iOS 5, Siri and iCloud have certainly been hogging the spotlight. Beyond that, users en masse are also hot to get their hands on the new Notifications handling, Twitter integration, Safari optimizations and Reader, iMessage, Reminders, and Wi-Fi sync. » How Apple Would Reinvent Your Big-Screen TV - 0 views

  •
Apple having their own line of Big screen TV's would be very interesting to see because apple is very good at connecting their devices such as the ipod the iphone the macs and the ipad. Adding an apple big screen TV would be very cool especially with the new icloud application that syncs all of your apple devices together. Having your TV synced with you ipod would make listening to music controllable from the TV and adding Siri to the TV would aslo be a very nice added luxury to have.
