CJI Ranjan Gogoi, on Monday, recused himself from a plea challenging the appointment of Nageshwar Rao as the interim director of CBI. The case will now be taken up by a different bench on January 24. But, CJI said he will be a part of the select panel which will decide the next boss of CBI.

On Tuesday, authorities removed protesters from Supreme Court premises for raising an objection to the clean chit given to Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi in the sexual harassment case. The protesters raised slogans and carried placards to the top court. They were forcefully taken to buses.

Merely two weeks before she met with an accident, the Unnao rape survivor had written a letter to Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, telling him about the threats she received by men of BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar, who allegedly assaulted her. The letter started an uproar and it will be taken up by SC tomorrow.
