In wake of agitation against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens, Section 144 of CrPC, which bans the gathering of four or more people, was imposed in Mandi House area of New Delhi today. But despite the prohibitory orders, protesters gathered at the area.

As many as 144 minors were detained between August 5 and September 23, the Juvenile Justice Committee of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court told the Supreme Court on Tuesday. They were detained for stone-pelting, rioting, and damaging property. All the minors, barring two, have been released.

On Tuesday, authorities removed protesters from Supreme Court premises for raising an objection to the clean chit given to Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi in the sexual harassment case. The protesters raised slogans and carried placards to the top court. They were forcefully taken to buses.
