This is just a wikipedia page for the term "spanking", however it provides some interesting statistics about spanking from all over the world. I'll probably have a discussion with my class and ask them to predict what kind of topics the article will cover. I'll probably give them a range of questions like, who do you think gets spanked more, boys or girls? Then I'll have them skim the article to find the answers as homework.

The human right to drinking water

Hellow Kizak, That video made me go back to my childhood when I had to pump water from a well for all the needs, even for cooking. We had to go to the river to do our loundry, carrying big loads of dump clothes. The situation the Niger people is living, almost all Latinamerican countries are. So as we could see the world population is growing but the natural resources as water are dicreasing.

These are ready-made lesson plans that may have to be adapted to a particular context. A teacher might want to promote critical thinking skills in order to guide the students into discussing their ideas.

On November 20th we celebrate International Children's rights! We must reflect on the importance of respecting children's rights.

I know we were told to bookmark a site referred only to the topic we chose on the map, but I found this great site that links you to a whole bunch of mterial about human rights. I haven't been able to go through the whole thing, but for what I've seen so far, it's very interisting and it will be of great help for some of us.
