Can't tell you how many times I've had kids say 'I'm not sure how to find the equation' this year, without any clue as to why an equation (model) would be useful. They're not connecting math to using math.

A laptop connected to the internet may provide the ultimate distraction, but they may also provide the ultimate will power aids. You wouldn't blame a hammer for smashing your thumb - let's use these things well.

As much fun as it is to think that we have the best ideas in house, it just isn't so. 

Connected Learning is a big step from a model in which content forms the backbone of our planning. It seems like this is what our EE is trying to be. Should it play a bigger role in our vision of education?

We had been talking about character education, but I haven't heard much in a while. Late iGrant, anyone?

Some good ideas here. Perhaps this should find its way into the curriculum for laptops in some way?

Are we thinking about taking our design orientation to a bigger community? I still think there's a lot to be gained from having the kids engage some bigger problems in a more public forum.
