Popular Today in Social: Everyone has an opinion on social media these days. It is funny when people make a comment on a medium which they themselves haven't explored extensively. The new name to feature in the list of literates who think that social media should be regulated is External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid.

This is very true because, like most articles we have read, it is easier to express how you truely feel on social media sites. I thought this was interesting because through social media, it is difficult to find emotion.

Social Media is huge advantage for law enforcement. Police are depending on more an more people to get in touch with them and give them clues into cases which they are investigating. Don Martin, Public Information Officer with Tyler Police tell KETK, " In the old age you have eye witnesses."

I thought this article was interesting because everyday you can see how certain social media sites hurt you. This shows you how it can help you and how it can help police investigators solve their cases.

An article addressing the ways protesting was done in the past (sit-ins, press involvement, etc) and how it has changed with social media (Twitter, ect). Essentially, Malcolm Gladwell argues that activism through social media does not have the strength that social change requires because the strategies are built around people who are weakly tied to others through social networks

I liked this article because in the past people would protest with signs and today we can use social media and it gets a lot more people involoved. I think this is a postive side to social media.

Source for my final project

I never thought I would take a class where I would be encouraged to be on various social media sites. Now I guess it is even possible to major in social media! It looks like we've come a long way from our high school teachers snatching our cell phones in the hallways.

As the title suggests, this article from The Innovative Educator (tech-related education blog I follow) discusses ways that different social media could be used to coordinate with parents. The principles could be applied to any job, really....

This article is interesting because it shows how Social Media is being used within a traditional religion. The article talks about a site, "Pope Alarm", where you can sign up to be promptly notified when the smoke turns white over the Vatican, signaling the selection of a new pope.
