Although I know we should not rely on wikipedia for a whole lot of scholarly information, I do believe this wiki page is a very good glimpse into the history of computing and computing hardware.

This notes page took an explanation of Roland Barthes'  a step further and explained each category in more detail and gives where each specific one comes up in the image.

Another great site for balance in design. This page gives visualizations, though, and can really help to learn the subject matter.

I decided to push this website on WordPress improvments to the group because unlike the first website I pushed, this site gives actual tutorials on the how tos. This website also list some other plug ins and features that were not listed on the other website.

This is a page that gives 20 tricks to improve your blog. I felt like it was very helpful and easy to follow.

I found this video helpful because I didn't realize there were different websites you could go to to get page layouts. It is a nice tutorial and very simple to follow.

ALIGNMENT. This is a really fun, quirky little comic that gives pointers about alignment on pages and documents. It's rather interesting in the way it presents its information.

I did not quite understand the section in chapter 1 about copywriting, until I found this website. This page takes the main points explained in the book, but goes into more detail. Push Chapter 1

Another great Design Layout and emphasis page. specifically for it's use of original examples although the commentary is a bit lacking

BoD Chapter 2: This page contains an outline of emphasis techniques to create visual hierarchy. It also includes links to more information on web design and links to templates for web publishing.

This page gives instructions on how to conduct a usability test of the instructions you have created. This will be useful for me when I do my project because I can see if my instructions really work before I submit my design for a grade.

BoD Chapter 1: This page lists 21 formatting characteristics that are based on/ affected by your target audience. As chapter 1 states, deciding who your audience is and knowing about their demographics is one of the first steps in web design.

This page will help me with Project #1 because it informs me on how to write instructions specifically on the web. It contains a lot of great information, including why knowing your audience is important, how to remain brief but be exact, how to select appropriate wording, and how to perfect the visual appeal of the instructions.

This page gives 20 tips for proper netiquette that will remain useful for personal and business settings. Some of these include the common sense aspects such as starting an email with 'hello' and limiting or eliminating the use of all caps because that is viewed as yelling in internet terms.

Ch 6- BoD Repetition This page provides written and visual examples of repetition to provide emphasis on borders, images and icons.

This site gives a handful of examples in repetition using examples of decoration, borders, & image/icon use.

Gives examples and ways on repetition. Like a mini lesson on it. 

FLOW. This page talks specifically about the concept of flow and how designers can optimize it in their websites. I like this site because of the fact that it cites actual research done and how it clearly breaks down what designers need to do in order to achieve flow. 

Email Etiquette: This site provides a lot of information on email etiquette. This page specifically gives a run down of all of the basics when it comes to proper email use.

Discussion Board Etiquette This page provides several tips for message board posting etiquette from basic elements like providing a relevant title on a post to more serious issues such as staying away from posting about a personal business or product.
