When you are selecting a font for your resume, the font size should be between 10 and 12 to allow for readability. Your name (which should be placed at the top of your resume) can be slightly larger.

Contrast can amplify some design elements. By contrasting the size of these two shapes we can make the large shape appear larger and the small shape appear smaller.

Balance used in advertising.  The coke bottles increase and then decrease in size; the largest being in the middle. Folding the ad in half results in the same amount of bottles being seen on each half.  The same couple colors are used without giving it a uniform, balanced feel

Not only can you add emphasis by doing something to the actual words but you can also work with the image. Change the size or color of the image are a couple things.
