350 million people use Facebook, most every single day, and it has doubled in growth every year for the past 2 years. It is becoming a major cultural force, read about the effects its having.

how social networking sites are good for business due simply to the fact that it is free advertising for them. with the rising popularity of these sites we find more businesses like giant eagle creating pages and posting advertisements on them as well. Its a cheap way to reach hundreds of people.

the popularity of facebook since it has taken flight in the past five years it has sky rocketed to the number one spot. The monthly visits between social networks are huge but it is still surprising that myspace (once holding the number one spot) still more popular then twitter which is a decent new found technology for reporting someones status.

This is FanFiction.net, my personal preferred site for fanfiction- or at least the one that, when I really enjoyed reading it, I went to all the time. This site is very well organized and has great search features for going through the archives.

I'm not sure how credible this site is- my brother uses it quite a bit, but according to it, (look at the highlights) fan fiction is a violation of copyright.

When I first started reading fan fiction, way back when I was about 12, Harry Potter was the first type of fan fiction I read. This article is older, but it concerns JK Rowling (author if the HP books) giving her consent to her fans abducting her characters.

SelfGrowth.com is one of many websites that make it possible for someone to research specific skills or techniques, such as lie detection. I find it interesting that the internet makes obscure information readily available. Decades ago it would have been fairly difficult to find books related to lie detection, or many of the other topics listed on Selfgrowth.com.

Amazon is competing to be the first and only choice all authors might choose to sell their books as e-books as well. They will up the royalty for authors and publishers from 35 percent to 70 percent.
