I don't know what this article is about because I didn't read it. Just kidding I did. It is about how society has lost interest in reading books and novels and became interested in blogs and tweets. Because the internet has brought us those things we seem to have trouble focusing on a novel.

Why is English Language so hard to learn? - 0 views

shared by Robert S on 10 Sep 09 - Cached

This site is a funny one to show the reader ways in which English just does not make sense. We have all theses rules but all of them can be broken. There are more rules in English than in most other languages but most of them have limits, exceptions or can be broken. Why can't English just follow the rules like other languages do? I have personally seen how other languages follow their rules and to me, it just seems much easier. If there are rules, they should always be rules and not just be there but not followed. This is why it is so hard for people with a different native language to learn the English language.

How to sell anything to anyone - 0 views

  •
This article is about selling products. In a way, this can relate to advertising also. The article talks about asking open ended questions to a customer. In advertising, keeping an ad open ended and leaving room or a space for the reader to fill in with their imagination may cause them to become more interested. It also talks about solving a problem. In the ad, give the customer or convince the customer that they will get something that they desire. This article may be about selling, but it is very easy to realize that when you are advertising anything, you are trying to sell it whether you gain monetarily from it or not.

Slashdot - News for nerds, stuff that matters - 0 views

I picked slashdot.org because...well...slashdot is for NERDS! GEEKS!!! Someone who might be in the Computer Information Technology learning community! LIKE ME! On a more serious note though, I picked slashdot because it involves people like the CIT learning community. We are nerds/geeks we know it, and love it. Slashdot is composed of authors that are IT gurus and love to talk about as what there title says, 'news that matters' which is straight and to the point.\n\nLike any good nerd we like to put in our two cents. Slashdot added a message board to reply to any post the authors make. The articles composed by Slashdot will always involve technology in someway. Whether it's a post on the internet's birthday or a post about how red hat enterprise linux 5.4 has been released. Slashdot has posts to the point for people like "us". Its not filled with clutter or garbage about stupid news about Jon and Kate + 43000, its news that MATTERS. Simple as that.\n

Interesting story that has been brought up recently involving Twitter and a group of students being caught with it. This article shows a graphical description of how the technology of data storage has developed over time. The statistical facts in this article are mind boggling. When comparing music storage, the first-generation ipod (4 inches tall) held 117 hours of music, which equates to 159 12-inch records or 117 cassette tapes. Hulu, a website gaining its popularity for being able to watch tv-shows streamed for free, holds the same data as 259 VHS tapes. On youtube, there is approximately 20 hours of video content uploaded every hour, which is the same as 343 tapes uploaded every hour. These digital storage technologies are improving the way people live their lives. What is in store for us in the future of this technology?
