This article discusses how the City of North Vancouver uses sustainable methods to enhance the quality of life for those living and working in the community.

It was interesting to read the different ways the City of North Vancouver strategies to becoming a more sustainable city. Like Kelsey said they believe this will help their quality of life for those who work and live in that city. This article first explains how it can effective to change the school lighting to energy saving light. It then goes on asking questions and concerns that people might have to changing to energy saving lighting. Though this is one step to sustainability it isn't a full step like people often think.

This article talks about different well known colleges using different methods of sustainability. Different colleges have only used food from the local area, composting waste, energy saving techniques through out the college campus, etc. This article goes goes through each college and tells you about how the college has change to become more sustainable.

Ira Sager the journalist of the this article talks about how much money is wasted because of food waste. She goes on to say how many pounds of food is wasted. The number one thing that is thrown away is food scrapes, not plastic or paper. Those food scrapes we could be composting. She stated that wasting food is a cultural habit. We are use to doing it and it is culturally acceptable. Breaking this awful food waste habit then there is going to have to be an adjustment in our society. Also she talks about how many people think the government needs to get involved and do something about food waste.

This is a pretty good article. It is sad how they mentioned that chemicals which were banned in the U.S. and Europe for being toxic are now starting to be used in developing countries. It is sad to know that there are companies out there worried more about their pockets of "one"(the company) rather then the health and lives of thousnds of people.
