Immigration freedom is personal liberty. Borders are statism. - 0 views

  •
When I read miserable, belligerently statist exercizes in punitive nationalism like this article (content warning: violent xenophobia, ill-informed conservative legalism, ethnic slurs all over comments threads) at a conservatarian website that calls itself the Personal Liberty Digest, I have to wonder what the words personal liberty mean to them, and what it is about ever [...]

A border crossing in the U.S. will be subject to the authority exercised through the Department of Homeland Security, a U.S. governmental federal agency, through various administrative and enforcement divisions. Accordingly, a border crossing which occurs in the manner generally meant by this terminology, which is to say illegally, will accordingly come under the coverage of the U.S.

For years, we have struggled to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into our country and secure our borders. But in the last few months, this problem has hit crisis mode with more than 50,000 illegal immigrants flooding our southern border, and another 40,000 projected still to come.

New Hampshire fights voter fraud - 1 views

  •
New Hampshire is the first state to vote in the presidential primary. This year they enforced the voter ID law. This was the first time they have tried to combat voter fraud. They had a case of voter fraud in 2012, and they did not want anymore issues so they now require the voters to bring any kind of resisted photo ID such as a drivers license, military ID, passport, or etc.

No different from many areas throughout Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, San Diego County is on the front line of the illegal immigration fight. The difference is that experience and results make San Diego one of the most effectively secured border regions in the country. This success is not a coincidence or due to luck.

16 Reasons Why Opening Our Borders Makes More Sense Than Militarizing Them - 1 views

  •
What would happen if the United States suddenly stopped building walls and instead flung open its borders, not unlike the European Union has done among the member countries of the common market? Conservatives malign the notion and liberals, even radical ones, haven't exactly embraced the "open borders" concept.

Texas voter ID was stopped for a time - 0 views

  •
A federal court of appeals denied Texas from enacting its voting rights law. This case is one of many to cut back on strict voting laws in Texas. Many say the law is discriminatory and then pro voter ID law people say that it has noting to do with minorities or poor people. They say that is all suggested by the people who just do not want the law. Texas has two options and they are to make changes to the previous law or go straight to the supreme court.

Mike Rowe Talks About Why Control Won't Work - 0 views

  •
Mike Rowe talks about what would actually happen if heavier gun control laws were laid down. He talks about how he thinks a heavier background check would not do much to a criminal purchasing a gun illegally. He says then that if we cannot control the government, why would we want to make it bigger by handing over our guns.
  •
We do need stronger gun control laws, but either way I feel as if anyone now a days think its okay to have self defense as in automatically killing someone. Self defense is a mechanism as to which keeps oneself safe, as well as stopping the offender in a way that does not kill them, only stops; by saying that does not mean "go kill them" and that is what most people believe now a days is what self defense is, just by killing another individual.

Ted Cruz's Immigration Solution - 0 views

  •
This is Ted Cruz's plan to stop the flood of illegal immigrants crossing the Mexico/America border. He is going to build a wall that actually works and up the number of patrol agents. He is also going to hold the DHS to do their job and keep our borders secure and us safe.
  •
I really do not believe it is immigrants who are making our country bad, what makes our country bad is the ignorance people throw out there with most believing that they "know" everything. I strongly believe that when some says immigrant, in any one's head they automatically think of Mexicans, when in fact its anyone who was not born in the U.S., Canadians, Arabians, Dominicans, etc,.

Apple vs FBI-Buffett says 'privacy has its limits' - 0 views

  •
Buffett said he understands the position of Apple CEO Tim Cook, who does not want to open up the iPhones of everyday Americans to government scrutiny. "I don't know Tim [Cook] real well. Everything I know about his is he's a high-grade an individual as you can imagine," he said.
  •
Apple shouldn't share their info. Once that backdoor is opened it can never be closed
  •
I strongly believe whatever we sign or agree to with keeping our personal life a secret, there is always going to be something there violating our personal rights. We as humans are all different and come from different backgrounds but sine we are not the "law" or we do not know more than the FBI or Apple, they will continue to think it is okay to violate our privacy.
