Google: don't expect privacy when sending to Gmail - 0 views

  •
Google is under intense scrutiny after it's role in the National Security Association scandal that involving mass surveillance of U.S. Citizens. In a recent court filing, Google asserts non gmail users sending emails to Gmail accounts can't expect any privacy when sending the email correspondence. Google scans the email using an electronic program to target ads to the end user. Non gmail users can expect their personal and/ or professional email correspondence to be intercepted and read before being delivered to the gmail end user.
  •
I'm not sure if there's any place at all where you can expect privacy when sending e-mail. That just reminded me of my work. Every day when you see the login screen, it reminds you that with our system, you don't have any reasonable expectation of privacy. I wonder how many people even read that.

Celebrating the Victories: Deferred Action for Dreamers - 0 views

  •
Here's a great article written about the Dream Act, which allows young adults, that are immigrants, a chance to obtain a work authorization in order to stay in the United States. The reason this act was put into place was to speak out for those children who came into our countries with their parents and are considered illegal immigrants. These young adults are now dealing with the hardships of living in the U.S. illegally because they were not given a chance to decide on whether or not they wanted to live in this country.

Shootings by Agents Increase Border Tensions - 1 views

  •
Due to the heighted security on the border patrol, there has been numerous amounts of innocent people killed. Due to the tension, patrol officers are shooting and killing people who aren't trying to come over to the United States.
  •
This makes me sad. Was it really necessary for that boy to be shot so many times? I understand that border patrol officers have an important job to do and they have the right to defend themselves when rocks are being thrown at them, but to shoot someone 11 times? According to the article the boy was shot 7 times in the back, more than likely while attempting to flee. I do not understand why a man who has his hands restrained behind his back would need to be tazered. These actions are not reasonable or necessary.

Does having to be 21 in order to drink break freedom rights? - 0 views

  •
This site speaks about the reasons for lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18. It points out that 18-year-olds are able to fight and die for their country, but considered too young to have a beer. The website clearly believes that the law should be changed.
  •
This article covers both pros and cons to lowering the legal age to drink to 18. The write is torn between whether or not it is right because at 18 you are a legal adult. However, studies show that one is not ready for alcohol until at least 21 and that by than one should have a stronger common sense level.

This article touches on the debate of assisted suicide. Some people are pro, believing that once one has lost their quality of life they should be able to make the decision to end their own(with assistance, since, for whatever reason, they are unable to commit suicide on their own). Other people are against assisted suicide, believing there are situations where it would go against personal moral codes of doctors or nurses, or that the person pleading to die may change his/her mind and it will be too late.
  •
Another good article about the morality and legality of assised suicide. Who are weto decided a person can be helped to die and be forced to live on constant pain?

The Case for Teaching The Bible - 0 views

  •
This article is a two sided of opinion of a very concerning topic to many Americans today. Should we teach our children the bible in school? There are schools such as in Georgia that are for the first time allowing funds to be allocated to teaching high school classes the Old and New Testaments. The students say that there are many different reasons for them to take the classes, believers or not. It seems to be a rising trend proving that more and more students enjoy these classes. I am determined to answer my own question. If our founding fathers put our country in place basing it from morals and values found within God and His word, the Bible, who are we to take it away?

Tuition Rising: Why College Cost So Much - 0 views

  •
This website pretty much goes straight to the heart about where and why the cost of tuition is 2-3% higher than inflation. The other good reason I didn't realize is that univerisites are striving to be the best so they will spend more money which we end up paying for.

The Medical Arguments Against Legalizing Prostitution - 0 views

  •
From a medical view there are many reasons not to legalize prostitution. STD's could be tested for in advance but the testing could not keep up with the amount of partners a prostitute would have. The health risks are too dangerous to chance.
  •
Article on why prostitution should not be legalized using medical analysis.  Very short but very thorough with many cited works.

Pro gay marriage - 2 views

Gay marriage talks about both legal issues and social argument issues. Legal argument grab more attention because they involve civil and equal rights. Gay marriage should respected, no matter if people don't like the fact of gay marriage. People believe that gay marriage is harmful, but there is no prove. There are good reasons to legalized gay marriage because it would benefit us all.

There is obviously more benefits for gay couples to be legally married. I think everyone should be happy and that there should be no law to say otherwise. If gay couples are allowed to get married not nly does it help them but also for the people around them.
  •
I am all for gay marriage. I think if a couple is happy with one another then let them be happy. There are many benefits to being married and I think they should be allowed to get married.
  •
to be honest in this day and age I cant even believe this is still an issue? I completely support gay marriage if they want to live together forever just like everyone else I say go right ahead.
