It also brings up that the small businesses that we are trying to support are the most effected by the tax hike.

Art education reaps many benefits for students. People may not realize, but studies in the Arts is a great foundation for academics. So it's a shame that when budgets get tight that the first thing to go are the arts programs. Maybe we should re-think priorities in schools, and weave these arts back into the classroom

The Common Core standard were brought about by the Obama Administration. The purpose of Common Core is to clearly define what student should be knowing in each grade level and eliminate the unevenness of former state standards. A majority of states have adopted the standard while there are few states who have decided that their current state standards are preferable. In a New York Times article, author Adam Liptak details the change in law enforcement priorities to preventing terrorist attacks over punishing crimes after they have been committed and how this may be an infringement on our freedom of speech. After the September 11th attack, surveillance of religious and dissident groups and informants in Muslim groups caused early arrests as "material support," in support of terrorist organizations. Simply talking to a terrorist group, even urging these groups to resolve disputes through peaceful means, is considered committing a crime.

Considering the fact that we are trying to solve a problem in America, we as the Americans should be the priority when making all these decisions. Forget amnesty and lets increase funding for protection of borders.
