New Black Panther party members are seen outside voting polls in the 2008 and 2012 elections. Some embrace then saying that they protect anyone in the area. Others claim intimidation for citizens who would vote republican. Former Navy Seals, among others, would attempt to counter the New Black Panther party members on Election Day.

"Law enforcement reminders of the consequences of criminal behavior are supposed to curb illegal activity, but some of these intimidation strategies may be backfiring, especially among youth. In the latest study of stop and frisk policies, in which law enforcement randomly stop individuals for questioning even if they aren't engaged in criminal activity, researchers found that those who were stopped were more likely than those who were not to engage in delinquent behavior later on."

South Carolina charges women for "fetal abuse" because of using cocaine during her pregnancy and as a result the child was stillborn. The law makes it possible to charge a woman for using drugs during a pregnancy. There are also rehabilitation treatments that are offered but many contest that it will intimidate possible candidates.
