Gun control and violence is always a popular topic in debates. However it goes nowhere. Those that are pro-gun control do not use valid facts to back up their reasoning on why parts of our freedoms should be taken away. It will never be harder or impossible for felons/bad people to find guns. Yes, they are wanting to confiscate guns. Buying a gun is not as easy as buying groceries, there are laws in place that restrict who can buy guns legally. Concealed carriers do stop mass shootings. There are lots of myths that come along with the debates, and no one should make a decision without doing research.

Gun control and gun rights has always been a very popular topic, specifically when it comes to elections. Recently there have been two court cases to reach the highest court in the US, one of which was considered to be a landmark case. However, neither case established what laws could be put in place without infringing upon our second amendment rights.

Widow to Navy Seal Sniper Chris Kyle confronts Obama at a Town Hall conference hosted and televised by CNN. I feel a lot of deja vu reading this article.It's the same old song and dance and none of them have learned that as United States citizens, we like our guns; and we will not be separated from them. Criminals do not follow laws, more gun control is useless without reinforcing the statutes already in place.

Pros and Cons for gun control

In this article it gives both pros and cons of enacting the gun laws. Tells you both aspects of how certain situations can be reduce for example suicide. Some people believe if the government would have a stricter laws for gun control. Less harm of hurting others or yourself can have a big role. People who don't agree with gun control believes if their are more background checks its invading their privacy.

Mike Rowe talks about what would actually happen if heavier gun control laws were laid down. He talks about how he thinks a heavier background check would not do much to a criminal purchasing a gun illegally. He says then that if we cannot control the government, why would we want to make it bigger by handing over our guns.

We do need stronger gun control laws, but either way I feel as if anyone now a days think its okay to have self defense as in automatically killing someone. Self defense is a mechanism as to which keeps oneself safe, as well as stopping the offender in a way that does not kill them, only stops; by saying that does not mean "go kill them" and that is what most people believe now a days is what self defense is, just by killing another individual.

Long line are forming at gun shows. Many are anxious in buying a gun. However, many sellers are not require to preform a background check and many gun show sellers feel that this is the way it should be. Saying that the government shouldn't control who should purchase guns.

Author D B Kopel argues that gun control in countries like Great Britain, Australia, Switzerland, Japan, New Zealand, Canada, and Jamaica is not the reason for their low crime rate. I find this article interesting because it informs the reader that gun control has been such a debated topic for decades now. Also what is more interesting is that depending on the situation people are hesitate to allow the second amendment to pass during tough times like during the panthers era or the wild west.This article just makes you think why is there pendulum for strict gun restriction in one decade and no strict gun control in this decade. For instance, because of the sandy hook elementary shooting are we more afraid of this situation to happen again so we keep our guns tighter in our pockets or do we allow the government to handle this for us?
