Teacher dress code under scrutiny in Arizona - 0 views

Great! I feel as if dress code policy for teachers is too lax. I know some girls who wear flip flops to class! Being professional goes a long way, especially when influencing the nation's youth.

An Israeli weekend television program told the story of how Naama had become terrified of walking to her elementary school here after ultra-Orthodox men spit on her, insulted her and called her a prostitute because her modest dress did not adhere exactly to their more rigorous dress code.

Too tattooed to work? - 0 views

  •
This article describes the two sides to tattoos in the workplace. Some companies, mainly companies where there is little customer interaction, are accepting of tattoos and piercings. As long as they are not offensive, you will not be asked to cover them. However, some companies still have more strict dress code that prohibits employees from having tattoos or any visible piercings. It really depends on the atmosphere and the company, but those with tattoos and piercings that are not offensive, find it discriminating and lacking in personal freedoms.

This article touches on the debate of assisted suicide. Some people are pro, believing that once one has lost their quality of life they should be able to make the decision to end their own(with assistance, since, for whatever reason, they are unable to commit suicide on their own). Other people are against assisted suicide, believing there are situations where it would go against personal moral codes of doctors or nurses, or that the person pleading to die may change his/her mind and it will be too late.

Another good article about the morality and legality of assised suicide. Who are weto decided a person can be helped to die and be forced to live on constant pain?

How Online Social Networks Work - 0 views

  •
When people talk about hacking and social networks, they're not referring to the common definition of hacking, which is using malicious code or backdoors in computer networks to damage systems or steal proprietary information. Hacking into social networks requires very little technical skill.
  •
I believe that there should be an increase on security with social networks because of how easy it is to hack into someones personal information!
