Several states are considering passing laws like a bill that was recently passed in Tennessee outlawing parts of Islamic Shariah law. Shariah law is an Islamic way of settling disputes while taking religious tenets into account. Supporters of the bill feel that allowing the practice of Shariah law within the United States will denigrate the Judeo-Christian foundation of the U.S., however protesters argue that creating such laws will erode the very foundation of American democracy and freedom of religion.

A group plans to burn Korans on 9/11 to show the dangers of Islam. This shows a lack of religous freedom in this country, as well as ignorance towards world religions. It's appalling to see this. If you don't want to practice Islam don't, but leave those who do alone.

This web article talks about different examples of religious intolerance that is regularly seen in the US. It lists religions from Islam to the Native Americans. Examples such as the post 9/11 paranoia regarding those of Islamic faith, to the hate Jewish americans face with anti-Semitic groups.

France started a ban on Islamic face veils worn by women supporting and practicing their religion. The law infringes on their personal freedoms and many have protested outright.
