Surf's up!!! Every good surfer is an amateur meteorologist. NOAA is the go to site for tracking tropical storms, low pressures, cold fronts and swells. How is that for hands on science you can use!

I see a road trip in my near future.... I was quick to add this to my list of outdoor adventure planning! More of my favorites include Florida Fish and Wildlife Mgt, Florida State Parks, and Florida Trail. Parks scream out science lessons!

HowStuffWorks explains thousands of topics, from engines to lock-picking to ESP, with video and illustrations so you can learn how everything works.

I love children's museums, and their websites! Even if a trip to the museum is out of the question, websites often offer a virtual field trip from home. Students can explore exhibits, play games, and teachers can print out lesson plans. I do this before every trip to DC. Many of the Smithsonian's even have downloadable apps.
