All of these pages include free activities and lessons to use so that you don't have to take the time to create your own original interactive white board lessons.

"I'm not very tech savvy" is the response I usually hear from teachers that struggle with technology. Whether it's attaching a document to an email or creating a PowerPoint, some teachers really have a difficult time navigating the digital world.

This website provides a great deal of valuable information for both educators and students pertaining to NASA and Space in general. For students, this website has interactive games, videos and printable activities for grades kindergarten through 12th grade. I have used materials and ideas from this cite many times, and find it very useful and easy to incorporate into any lesson.

This is a great site for children ages 2-8. It teaches pre-reading as well as reading skills up to 2nd grade. Includes games, animated stories, songs, and writing activities. I use it daily!

I love everything about Discovery Education, not to mention their streaming library which offers video clips of pretty much anything educational you can think of from lessons on "What do Scientists do?" to Chinese Dragon Dancers. I use this site all the time in my classroom, highly recommend!

Great website to get writing lessons, ideas, prompts and activities for the classroom.

This is a great site for language arts writing resouces. It's based on the 6 + 1 Traits of writing. There are interactive lesson plans, interactive writing prompts, student samples which help struggling writers with the brainstorming and organizing writing at many different levels. This website is FANTASTIC! I've used it a number of times with my 1st Graders!!

Turning Learning on its Head

This is a very interesting concept of using digital learning at home and then having class time be used for project based work.

Yes! Flipped Classroom is a terrific concept. I have been really wanting to try it, but have not been able to make it around to creating the videos. A great site for videos is Khan Academy...maybe I should post that! :)

In the world of academia, Google search engine does not always serve the purpose because most of the time its search results are not exact . I am a huge fan of Google but when it comes to academic search queries I often have recourse to other search engines that are area or content specific.

Every time I introduce rubrics to a group of teachers the reaction is the same - instant appeal ("Yes, this is what I need!") followed closely by panic ("Good grief, how can I be expected to develop a rubric for everything?").

This is a great way to assess for different learning styles.

You can search by grade level and even alignment to the Common Core Standards. If you are a K-6 teacher that enjoys teaching with picturebooks, then this is worth checking out!

Great website that has thousands of passages for your students. You can seach by lexlie level, by skill/strategy, or by grade. I use these all the time in the classroom to review skills I've already taught. Common Core aligned, teacher & principal endorsed.
