ExitTicket is a student response system, designed by teachers to achieve one simple idea: Accelerate student achievement. I haven't used this before, but came across it and thought it may be useful to share.

Teaching spelling and vocabulary is easy with VocabularySpellingCity! Students can study and learn their word lists using vocabulary and spelling learning activities and games. Students can take final or practice spelling and vocabulary tests right on this engaging site. Premium games and automated student record keeping are available to Premium Members.

You can enter your spelling words into the interactive site and the students can play games that help to reinforce the spelling skills. It also has vocabulary options.

Where do I begin? The Library of Congress website has so many FREE resources for students and teachers. Very easy to search for what you are looking for. It is a government site so everything is up-to-date and accurate

Learned about this on a field trip! Has TONS of free resources, lesson plans, and videos for teachers to use. Has a website dedicated for students to look at as well. Can be slightly difficult to search through at first, but has gotten much easier!

The program must be downloaded to your word program. Great resource for making puzzles, BINGO cards and much more. Daily 5, "Word Work" with sight words.

Virtual Classroom Management is a collection of free online tools gathered by the Technology Resource Teachers of Frederick County, Maryland. Tools include timers, noise monitors, point trackers, random name generators, charts, and more. Online Stopwatch includes analog and digital timers as well as an egg timer, stopwatch (count up or down), talking clock, metronome, chess clock, an interval timer, and split lap timer.

You can play as a guest or you can sign your students up for an account! There are math competitions as well as prizes for individual success. With a free teacher account, you can set levels, goals, and create competitions for your students.

This comprehensive tutorial gives all the details on using gated blogs safely in the classroom, including explanations of blogging basics, a TeachersFirst Step-by-Step on how to start one, complete charts of the features of several free blogging tools for teachers, and over two dozen ideas for how to use a blog with your students.

This is another website that is part accessible for free, but there is a pay option to take advantage of the rest ($ per year). Scholastic offers lesson plans, worksheets, mini books, a whole section of "computer lab favorites" with learning activities students can do on the computer in 30 minutes or less, videos, a class homepage builder, and more. Building a whole unit (any subject) is made easy with the resources available on this site. There is even a special section for new teachers!

Lit2Go is a free online collection of stories and poems in Mp3 (audiobook) format. An abstract, citation, playing time, and word count are given for each of the passages. Many of the passages also have a related reading strategy identified.
