How To Teach Critical Thinking Using Bloom's Taxonomy - Edudemic - Edudemic - 2 views

  •
An awesome resource to share with students! As a teacher I regularly refer to Bloom's Taxonomy when I am planning or developing questions for my students to ponder and respond to. This resource provides a great explanation of the thinking processes that the learner should experience at each of the levels in the taxonomy. The chart offers sample questions in very student-friendly language. This will be helpful as I encourage my students to stretch their questioning and thinking from the knowledge level through the higher levels.

Polyphonic Teaching with Digital Learning Tools | Edutopia - 0 views

I thought this article provided an interesting perspective about evaluating the use of certain digital tools based  on the type of instructional approach a teacher planned to use. The use of polyphonic teaching lends itself to the use of digital tools.

Really like this one! Categorized by K-5, 6-8, and Educator sections. Provides a lot of very relevant, interactive, hands-on, engaging ideas. I plan on using this one frequently as enrichment for my more advanced students as well as encouragement for my less-motivated ones.

Internet4classrooms - 0 views

One more website I use from time to time. Internet4classrooms is a great site because you can find your topic and grade and you can access a bunch of projects, websites, and also lesson plans. My kids are in the prehistory chapter and I used a lesson plan from this site in which students can only use cave man sign language to talk the entire and they loved it!

WritingFix - Simplify Your Lesson Planning! - 0 views

WritingFix is an excellent resource that provides lesson plans that meet the needs of many students. WritingFix has detailed lessons that focus on the essential components of writing. Each lesson is introduced with a children's book that demonstrates a specific component. The website it organized by the components of writing and has so much information! However, be aware that this site can look overwhelming because there is a lot of information available.

A web site for students and teachers to explore. Young students can explore the virtual world of Dr. Seuss through activities and games. Also, teachers can integrate lesson plan activities related to Dr. Seuss books (ex. Earth Day lesson plan using the The Lorax).

Awesome website! This site extremely vast in educational topics and links for assistance. The teacher tool kit link is priceless. You are able to generate worksheets, create word bingo activities (great for vocabulary retention) and there are lesson plans (i.e. sentence starters). My favorite link is the alternative assessment; here, you can find ideas and rubrics for alternative assessments in your classroom.
