I have used this website in Kindergarten and am excited to see that there are plenty of resources I can use for second grade. The NCTE is composed off dedicated teachers who share their resources, strategies, and best practices with others. You can enjoy the benefits of being a NCTE member by enrolling in the membership. Many of the resources are free and can be used in the classroom. There are lesson plans and student interactives to use for any subject on a computer or smart board. The great thing about this website is that parents and children can access it at home for after school resources. There is community involvement and professional developments that one can attend.

Elementary Educational Language Arts games for grades K-6. Great for cold reads, worksheets and themed based worksheets and games. There are also ready-to-go lesson plans available on language arts topics.

Educational website that is able to be downloaded as an App. The games and interactive lesson on range from K-5. Fun and engaging for students. Great for home-school support, Tier 1 and Tier 2 students.

Intereactive lessons for all content areas and assessments. This website is aligned with the NGSSS. Great use for reinforcing skills and RTI.

National Science Teachers Association

Great resource for journals in classes that you may be taking now, also a great source of additional information on what your lesson plans should look like.

I loved using this site to help my students practice skills in reading and math prior to completing science practice. Unfortunately the science test is testing reading comprehension as much as it tests science. If students are great at hands on experiments but cannot associate a paragraph of written material to the hands on activity, then they will not do well on FCAT Science. FCAT Explorer will help with those skills prior to science lessons.

FCAT Explorer is a free, online educational program for Florida's students that reinforces reading and math skills outlined in the Sunshine State Standards.

Isn't FCAT going away?

The item specifications part of the FLDOE website has been critical to prepare my students for FCA's and FCAT. If you find the item specification you can read to find out which pieces of information are tested. I try not to exclude data, but to ensure I cover the material being tested thoroughly. One example are states of matter teach three states or four states? Plasma is a state of matter not tested until high school. I include it to provoke thought, but I do not make it the main focus of my sixth grade lessons.

Visual thesaurus -- especially good with Smartboards when students struggle with words during a lesson.

Graph Words is a free visualization tool to explore English dictionary and thesaurus, helps you to search the meaning of words and other associated words.

I really like it when a seasoned teacher uses their vast knowledge and expertise to help other teachers. So here is a site I have used for years to get PowerPoints, lesson plans, etc. Most of the stuff needs to be tweaked but there is a lot of stuff to share.

This site features lesson plans and activities for holidays around the world.

This site provides many applications for pictures or video such as edit, download, add, and design. The site also offers lessons for students to acquire skills. This is useful when the student is using the site to design and add three-dimensional effects of the classroom that help students visualize the environment and their effects through the image to develop the sensory side of the student. The student can also download images on the site and engage with other students, teachers, and parents.

This Website helps to learn and practice basic math functions including algebra, problem resolution skills, as well as methods of teaching students who feel frustrated with math. I think that this site provides enough information to learn and develop the skills of students in mathematics. Students can learn through private lessons individual or through a collective use of videos and with a forum for discussion with the experts.
