To DNG or Not to DNG? - Lightroom Killer Tips - 1 views

  •
This is an article against DNG, I liked it because it clearly goes through what the pros are of DNG but then goes on to say why they still don't like it. They feel that it is weird to throw away the raw files, and while they understand why and are not purely against DNG, they still prefer not to use it.

I feel like DNG is a good thing to do because your files are smaller. Also you do not lose any quality even though it is smaller.
  •
I agree that .DNG is a good thing. Its essentially a universal RAW file, but its 20% smaller which is pretty neat. Also you can view this file on any computer at anytime and it will have all of its meta data.
  •
Converting it to a DNG will make your file universal and smaller in size. It is worth converting to make your work flow a lot easier.
  •
To DNG is the answer. It slightly shrinks the raw file with ought loosing too much data so it is smarter to. Also, converts it from proprietary to a universal which i incredibly useful. DNGs also can be opened with any program which makes them an overall great file format.

Joe McNally on the Nikon D4 - Beautiful Music, High ISO - The Photo Society - 3 views

  • The recent D4 project was a terrific project for the studio, made more so by the company I shared shooting it. Bill Frakes did his usual wonderful sports stills, but also filmed a beautifully evocative video of Istanbul. Take a look at his site, Straw Hat Visuals. Corey Rich once again defies gravity in his adventure sports video work, seen here.  Matthias Hangst shot amazing action, and Vincent Munier once again took on difficult and daunting landscapes. Humbled and honored to be in their company. Bill Frakes and I, especially, go back a long ways. He is one of the truly significant standard bearers in the history of sports photojournalism.

Baseball and Its Myths - 1 views

  •
Americans have played baseball almost as long as they have been Americans. Lewis and Clark played catch during their trek to the Pacific, and men organized the first game just outside of Brooklyn as congress debated a fugitive slave law. The game quickly grabbed the nation, and game scores dotted newspapers beside news of Sherman's march through Georgia. This article talks about the history and myths of baseball throughout history.
  •
This is a great article. If you read it, you would have a new perspective on baseball. I challenge you to earn 25 bonus points on this assignment by reading this article and sharing it with the class. You MUST tell us what stood out to YOU and if this article changed your original opinion of baseball.

Paul McCartney Art - 4 views

The well known musician, Paul McCartney, made some very nice visual art paintings. Color seems to be a big part of his work. The colors give you a feel as to the emotion attached to it.

He is a unique artist in music and painting. Incredible at both which is awesome.
  •
I like the way the colors express his emotions and how his portraits are distorted and warped. Its very abstract and he has a great talent in music and art
  •
He makes some very interesting artwork. if the facial expressions don't show the emotions then the colors do. theres always a way to tell.
  •
I find it very interesting that such a talented singer is also such a talented artist. The way he uses colors to express the emotions shows a lot about his artistic style.
  •
i like the different colors he used to make the design

Retro 1960s Fashion and Dresses | Ruche - 0 views

  •
By the 1960s, fashion involved a great deal of experimentation - something a Ruchette never fears when it comes to styling! From Jackie Kennedy's pillbox hats, to Audrey Hepburn's drainpipe pants, to the British style influence of the Beatles and Twiggy, the 1960s introduced a lot of new trends that have carried over to today.
