The growing demand for cost efficiency, enhanced safety, and reliability in power distribution systems has propelled the demand for busbar trunking systems in the utility sector. The electric distribution system is prefabricated and consists of a set of copper or aluminum bus bars suitably enclosed with superb protection against any foreign materials. Busbar trunking systems have emerged as highly efficient, safe, and ideal electric supply and distribution system suitable for a variety of industrial installations and in high-rise buildings. Enabled by compact design and standard plug-in boxes, these systems can deliver current in the range 125A to 2000A suitable for a wide variety of industrial purposes. They are gaining prominence over normal cabling systems due to a variety of factors.

The Commission is working on a number of issues that could have an adverse effect on the fire safety of buildings and occupants. Almost one-third of its Directorates-General deal with different legislation or have responsibilities that affect fire safety. The Commission should pursue a coordinated approach to fire safety in the EU by developing a fire safety strategy which would enable Member States to exchange data and best practices, and set out a vision for fire safety in the EU. What is the Commission planning to do to tackle fire safety? The Commission has in the past acted on safety issues subject to subsidiarity, such as road safety, and has achieved excellent results. Why does it not take similar action in the case of fire safety? Policies such as the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) can have a tremendous impact on fire safety. Will the Commission ensure that the sustainable buildings of the future are also resilient to fire by including fire safety provisions?

In June, a new Right to Energy coalition brought together unions, environmental NGOs, energy cooperatives, ombudsmen and anti-poverty organisations to defend the right to affordable, renewable energy for all Europeans in the 2030 EU energy package. As the European Parliament gears up to vote on these critical energy files, political groups are joining the effort to support our demands. The transition must benefit the most vulnerable: let's seize the chance to build a better future for all!
